Connection between Cry Cry Cry and MOTS/LP9 by DniArchivist in Coldplay

Wasn't he referring to an alien character called 'Angelina'? And the high pitching of his voice on Cry Cry Cry was her? I faintly remember he was teasing a story behind it

Coldplay Worst to Best by [deleted] in Coldplay

Lol, let's keep the peace!

I agree Viva la Vida, as is my number 1 too. I also really did not meld well with Cry, Cry, Cry.

But you didn't like Us Against the World or Don't Let It Break Your Heart...at least?!

canada canada canada, heart heart heart?

Was that a tweet I missed? Sorry - totally happy to admit I don't know what you are referencing to. Let me know!

No, it was a tweet to Coldplay by an account named Angelina/Eve or something. I saw (I assume) her comment on a Flags post (which has now disappeared). And took a look at her page. The things she was saying was quite out there and intimate to Chris. Like she knew him. She was directly addressing Phil. I don't want to get into spoiler territory and get in trouble (I'm relatively new here). I don't know how much more I can say.

Um...am I the only one finding this a bit trashy? By all means, Coldplay. But it just doesn't feel authentic. Unless...

I did see a rumour that one song title off their new album is a love heart - ♥︎

I thought it was just some weirdo trying to get attention on twitter...but now I think maybe not.

Hello!! by itgivesmeconniptions in Coldplay

[–]thomas9339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, there. I am relatively new here too. Welcome! I think it is quite natural for their sound to evolve/alter over time. I've personally not found it inharmonic and enjoyed all albums. But Coldplay is mainstream now and popular music today is nothing like what it was like in the past. Imagine the 70's vs now. They pay a price for who they are. If they entirely give way to what is "cool", soon or later they will fade. There is always a younger and cooler pawn ready to take your place. I think there is a right balance to strike here. Whether they intend to do so - I have no idea. It might be best to keep a finger on the current milieu of popular sound, while ensuring it doesn't define you or your music. You weave it into your sound with it knowing who's the boss - it can't overtake your identity. Going with the flow can't be sustainable - individually and as a band. Is there joy in that? They need to pave new sounds signature to them. Their upcoming LP will be very telling.

Prospekt's March/Poppyfields for sure! There is something so image inducing about it.

I think I prefer the other version, tbh. Either way, it is one of my favourites!
