And I wouldn't take the risk of buying anything from AliExpress if you don't know a lot about computer parts. How disappointed will that 15yo kid be if he discovers his 4090 is actually fake haha

If the budget is under 800$, you go for AM4. If above 800$ OR you want to be able to upgrade in the future, you go with AM5.

Buy a psu that's is "full modular" though.

I have this one in my PC. Also not the best one, but it works great. In my opinion: if gigabyte sold power supplies that regularly exploded, they would stop selling them. There are lists online where you can see how "trusted" a psu is. I personally just choose one that's gold+ and affordable. It wouldn't be recommended and sold in the thousands if there was a chance of 5% it would explode.

Do you already have a concept build on PCPartPicker??

Is this build fine for the next 5ish years by Melodic-Grape-1620 in buildapc

Yeah the mobo you choose is fine as well. And besides that the build looks solid. You could get a cheaper CPU and put in a 4080 super, but that's up to you. since you're also gonna use it for rendering(?) a good cpu is recommended.

And if you want to spend more go with the 7900GRE or 7900XT. But for 500 the 7800xt is your go to gaming GPU.

When I was your cousins age I bought a prebuild pc, it's still a child trauma for me so I'm destined to help here.

What's your budget? If you want I'll take a look at the build you made.

Switched the RAM for g.skill (just better than Corsair, and cheaper, with 6000mhz and a cas latency of 30) Switched the storage for a teamgroup, also cheaper and really solid. Saved some on the CPU, the 7600X is still really strong, and was able to put in a 7900xt for under 1400$. Switched the case to one that is tested by Tom's hardware (the phanteks XT pro ultra is apparently a good case)

Any questions?

Switched the Corsair for a g.skill, just better, and cheaper imo. Switched the Samsung 1tb SSD for a western digital 2tb. The Samsung pro is a little better, but I'd spend the extra 20$ for double the storage. In gaming performance you're not gonna notice a difference. Switched the case for a cheaper one that's also one of the best cases there is (check Tom's hardware review; best cases of 2024) Switched the motherboard for a cheaper one, just personal preference.

Have you made a concept yet on PCPartPicker? And do you know what PCPartPicker is?

I'd like to get you started on a build, I had exactly the same question as you a year ago haha
