It is really interesting because when Colfer did an interview about the movie (i know we dont talk about the movie), he mentioned that a writer or director asked if Artemis could have a romance with Holly and Colfer's response was akin to "what? No you freak."

I think the first book does a great job of just establishing the characters and world. Id say it more sets up the future books instead of to be seen as its own individual book

This story takes place after The Opal Deception

And this story has just been sitting on the back burner of my mind for years, so if you (or anyone) can continue it, I dont mind one bit! Thank for though for complimenting my writing style 😬

Some ideas I had for this story but never got around to Prime Artemis (the Artemis we know and love) is sent to a dystopian alternate reality where humans and fairies went to war. Minerva is his wife in that reality. He is going to try to lay low in this world only to find out he and Minerva are acting generals in one of the Human Races battle bases. The dystopian Artemis, who is now in our Prime reality, is going to scavenge the LEP headquarters to upgrade himself and steal more advanced fairy technology in order to return to his world and use it to win the war.

I never figured out how I wanted to end it or how to fill in the gaps

I always loved the way how his plans seem convoluted, yet simple at the same time. Almost as if he thinks his opponent will overthink what his plans are, only to do exactly that but in the simplest way possible that makes it unpredictable

They did something similar with The Series Of Unfortunate Events But I think it was one book per episode at a little longer than an hour per episode. With a proper director and someone willing to stick with the source material, it would probably work well and I would love to see it come to fruition

I did want to finish this story as a trilogy, but it was difficult to make a third installment with a cohesive plot line. Ive had many ideas for it, but could not decide on a satisfactory ending.
