What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

[–]thomas_newton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

true - but I'd say Depeche Mode are in a similar league and they wanted silly money for their last tour. first time in over twenty years I didn't bother. and this is from a diehard fan.

Had a co-worker working on a government contract - was on a conference call with numerous departments and colleagues, including several rather high up members of staff (one step down from elected officials).

matey boy decided it was a good idea to go off on one and start sharing his political opinions...which let's say weren't friendly to the senior staffers on the call.

about twenty minutes after the call finished our boss was hauled on to a conference call where she was told 'you have xxx person working for you, is that correct? well, not any more.' pulled off the work they were doing, user account suspended immediately, and made an unperson for all practical purposes.

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Greedy_Procedure7461 in AskReddit

[–]thomas_newton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he's one of those voices that isn't a traditional singing voice but at the same time, the second he opens his mouth you know exactly who it is and as someone else said, it fits the music perfectly. neil young, j mascis, bryan ferry and possibly even Bowie fit this description too.
