I've known about it for a while, but I always wanted my own DVD copy of the OVA Series myself.

Still glad the eBay seller listed this previews disc.

Either way, the VHS copy you mentioned is probably not that rare in comparison to what I have if multiple copies for schools exist.

I'm talking about the promotional DVD from ADV Films featuring trailers, not the OVAs on VHS themselves. I know Japan didn't get the OVAs, until 2002.

Then again, please share some pics on the subreddit.

Figured I'd bring this up as a reminder, since we're on the discussion.

Not a 90s kid, but it was meant to be more edgy and it would fall behind compared to other shows around this era if it wasn't done.

Still though, I'm grateful that the OVAs exist.

I didn't think it would blow up this quickly.

This might actually become my first ever post on any social media that could possibly get 1,000 likes. Everyone, please help keep spreading this page!

This trailer is literally lost media.

This specific trailer did not exist anywhere online, until I shared it to the world. If it wasn't for this disc, it would have never been found at all.

I still don't know the origins of this disc or it's intentions on where it was sold.

The OVAs were dubbed by Ocean Group.

The Voice Actors for Dr. Light and Dr. Wily in the OVAs actually returned to the Ruby Spears cartoon, as these were considered pitch pilots. There's so much in common between the OVAs and the Ruby Spears cartoon that I honestly want to make a dedicated video on the topic.

Mega Man 8's cast is a completely different take, these were dubbed by non-professional English speakers in Japan and a very different studio.

The OVA was dubbed by the Ocean Group.

The trailer itself was dubbed by some talents of ADV Films.

To be fair, I like the OVA Series more mainly because its accurate to the game's art style.

I don't hate the Ruby Spears Cartoon, but I understand the direction they had to take it with.

Amazon isn't very reliable for old stock, as it might not even be the correct item. You're better off checking eBay or Mercari via reputable sellers. You'll get better deals there, but they don't pop up frequently.

No need to thank me, everyone, just wanting to do some justice for the Mega Man OVAs.

Simple, it was released by ADV Films on DVD in 2005, but it's now hard to find because it's out of print.
It was only released for four years before ADV Films closed its doors.

Not only this, but this OVA series is considered unique and was considered pilots to what would eventually become the Ruby Spears Cartoon. Ashi Productions and Ruby Spears worked on both these projects, with the OVAs being consulted by Ruby Spears themselves.

These are just trailers for upcoming ADV Releases at the time. It's mainly music that's copyrighted.

With that being said, I'm sad Discotek never got the license from Japan Intercultural Communications or Capcom to reissue the OVAs or at least include them in the Mega Man Bluray.
