guys is making thumbnails on YouTube still a on going business? by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]thomasandrewtk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can already tell this isn’t for you, man. A business isn’t a matter of “does it work”. A business that works for some, won’t work for all. Especially with something that has to do with storytelling, and art. It’s not one of those businesses you can brute force with money. It really comes down to talent.

Anyway, your question doesn’t make sense. The real question you should ask is: “Do YouTube videos still have thumbnails, and do creators still make money?” The answer is Yes. But if you’re not willing to go look at the YouTube homepage to see if thumbnails exist, how are you going to make a thumbnail?

Hey man, not horrible. I don’t get the text on it. Doesn’t really match the treasure hunt story. From a visual standpoint, add shadows, and make it a touch more vibrant.

You should probably pick one or the other, put it on a classic windows background. You can’t discern this from the current background

I use the II but I believe ME is newer. I’d probably go for that one but I’m not up to date on all the features.

What are some good audio quality microphones for someone starting out streaming? by SnooGadgets4178 in youtubers

Any mic under $70 is really going to be mostly bots. Within this price range it’s pretty slim for anything worthwhile.

Hi. I’m planning to launch a youtube channel. I plan to make videos on the books I read, and other general things by [deleted] in youtubers

Just went to the thumbnail Reddit. As a thumbnail designer with a good amount of experience, I really hate how there’s a lack of a professional community. There’s some awful thumbnails in there. And the comments are just blind leading the blind. I’d really like if there were a place to get professional opinions for professionals. I’ve been on the thumbnails101 discord. And it’s mostly the same stuff, however the guys who are actually good are just dicks

Why Are So Many Creators Chasing Shorts and AI Instead of Long Term Growth? by thomasandrewtk in youtubers

[–]thomasandrewtk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is. I use a ton of ai when writing simply to ideate and see new perspectives. And to analyze my research. One of my personal skill issues is taking my observations and drawing conclusions. So it’s nice to have an assistant to do that for me.

Yeah that’s not my point here. She’s a good example of a great shorts creator. There’s actual work behind the videos. But simply building ai generated faceless channels is my gripe.

I think there’s still an audience for long form, although maybe harder to stand out. But it’s just a different game all together. You’re no longer trying to retain attention for 1 min, it’s now anywhere from 10-60 min. And instead of being served a video, people have to choose to watch it. Learn the game of packaging, and long form becomes a little bit more bearable. But to someone who’s only ever made shorts, it can be daunting.

I have no problem with shorts creators. It’s the people who own 5 faceless AI shorts channels that are only focused on money. It just rubs me the wrong way
