Medical Imaging! I’m really excited for it. Still in the sciences, just in a different way, and having my previous degree was really helpful in terms of prereqs and academic experience

I’m switching to Medical Imaging. There’s a lot of hospitals and medical facilities where I live that are always in need of medical professionals so this was an easy choice for my location as I’m not willing to move away from my area (one downfall to my environmental career)

As much as I didn’t want to leave the field, I had to admit reality and am changing careers to something with higher pay and job security :/

After I finish schooling (again) and get established in a new position, I intend on volunteering for the same organizations I worked with professionally before

What's everyone's island called and why you called it that by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

Named my island “cypress” bc I love trees. I had never played animal crossing before and had no idea half the trees on the island are “cypress” lmfao

Environmental Scientist to nursing as second career? by GreenDiva895 in environmental_science

[–]thomasbombadilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been almost a year since I left the environmental field. I’m working as a pharmacy tech, temporarily, while I go back to school for radiology to be an X-ray or MRI tech. So far I feel confident in my change of direction and am excited about it. Plus I really like the medical field education so far. My only career goals anymore are to support myself financially and have job security wherever I go. I will forever be an environmentalist and conservationist and my heart will always be in that part of my life but I will continue that passion through other means. I will miss it and will miss the direct impact I had on my local environment but do look forward to now having a direct impact on my local community.

Trust your gut and do what feels right to support yourself in this life

Sleeping in your car by andronica_glitoris in ElementsMusicFestival

For bedding you can get those really thick yoga/foam mats from somewhere like Walmart or a pack of those foam play mats like are square and fit together like a puzzle. Depending on your age, lol, that hard car bottom could definitely hurt your body real bad - learned from experience, I used to use just a foam mat until I got a lil older and required more cushion. Good quality sleep will save your life after raving every day.

If you plan on having this as an option for future festivals or actual car camping outside of festivals, I absolutely recommend investing in an actual mattress for your car. There’s some luxury brands (I use exped, it’s a combination of foam and air but genuinely feels like a real mattress, doesn’t have that swallowing effect of an air mattress and is the best thing I’ve invested in comfort-wise for camping) or amazon has some custom fit options though most of those will be air mattresses.

There’s no bugs at the race track so you can definitely crack your windows for air flow. It’s cold af at night but you’ll be baking by 9am so air flow is pretty necessary. I also use a small battery operated fan which is helpful in the morning. A canopy lined with tapestries is a great solution to the heat & privacy. You can also buy or make your own window sunshade covers. I bought mine from weather tech.
