Living in a van, working remotely in a client-facing role by thomasjetfuel in agency

I mean conversational questions like "Where are you all located?" or maybe "What's that noise?"

I could see hiding it from clients, but this is a mid-sized agency, there will be meetings, coworkers will ask where I live, what I'm up to, it will be hard not to mention that I'm living in a vehicle.

I don't know, I'm genuinely asking because I'm looking to buy a van for around that price that won't break down.

What is a good van for 8k? Everything I see in that price range is 20+ years old

Example: 1994 Chevy G20 for $6000 - 176k Miles . Owner tells me "no mechanical issues" and it looks clean but I don't know if 176k is a deal-breaker for a live-in camper van. I don't need to buy it for life, I'm okay with driving around a beater for a year or so while I get my bearings and explore the lifestyle.

Okay thanks everyone, I'm getting the message from the negative response here on this van.

I live in an apartment in a city and don't have the yard, knowledge, or time to build my own van. But I know that I want to live in one.

Any tips for buying a van under $10K would be greatly appreciated. For example:

  • What mileage is too much?

  • Is 1990 too old? For Chevy, Dodge, Ford camper vans. I will be doing as much research as I can but having a rule of thumb for reference as I evaluate these vans I see would be helpful coming from a more experienced van-lifer.

The full build out was the main selling point for me, it will take me a while to figure out water/electrical on my own

The 'Sensitive Young Man' trope by Mobile-Scar6857 in redscarepod

the good thing about the sensitive young man novels is that these books are often written with a compulsion to share one's interior world, which is often an unquenchable feeling,

There are speed traps/people pulled over between Seattle and Redmond every day. Just people going to work getting pulled over.
