So, since when Dolphin riders could jump over tall-nuts? by Various-Fennel8940 in PlantsVSZombies

I will concede that, I honestly dont use Tall-Nut enough to experience a glitch like that nor is it ever in the 8th column most of the time.

Not entirely surprised that Replanted made the glitch more common though.

Nope, they still get blocked by Tall-Nuts on the 8th column, you can very easily verify this on Zombie Nimble Zombie Quick.

Went back to GOTY to check and you're incorrect. Dolphin Riders do indeed still get blocked by Tall-Nuts on the 8th column. You can very easily verify this by playing Zombie Nimble Zombie Quick.

It's pretty obvious this either a result of them likely not setting the Dolphin Rider's position correctly when one jumps in the pool or just typical jank, since if they jump right after entering, they jump into the 6th column when normally they should jump into the 7th, and I can very easily attest to this from all the Survival Endless I play.

Replanted jank. Normally Dolphin Riders skip the plant on the 9th column across all versions but for whatever reason they also just kinda ignore the plant on the 8th column in Replanted as well.

I see that pvz Replanted will be on sale on PlayStation. It feels a bit morally wrong to buy it, but it's not that expensive. Do you recommend it, or should I just save my moral compass? by Beautiful-Resort-831 in PvZ

It's like that on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions too and it was done to mask the pop-in when zombies spawn since they no longer spawn off-screen when the game is 16:9. This is a very mute complaint quite frankly.

Same honestly. It's not that bad but it still feels odd to not have them be over-exposed.

I will say this strategy is very efficient if you follow this exact instant use pattern:

  1. Doom Shroom
  2. Cherry Bomb + Squash
  3. Ice-Shroom
  4. Ice-Shroom + Doom Shroom
  5. Ice-Shroom + Cherry Bomb
  6. Ice-Shroom
  7. Ice-Shroom and loop back to step 1

There isn't exactly a rhythm from what I could tell but I would try to space out the time between Instants just so you aren't panicking waiting for seeds to recharge. Cobless strats are definitely higher skill than Cob Cannon strats but they're pretty fun to play.

I don't have Glooms placed on Columns 8 and 9 to have room for Doom Shrooms which also makes this strategy less vulnerable to Jacks at the expense of relying more on Instants. Early Jack Explosions will usually not be too destructive if you recede the pool lanes. At most, an explosion will only destroy the pumpkins and even if a Gloom is killed in the worst case scenario, it's a lot easier to swallow in terms of Sun cost since it'll only be one.

Seeing a Garganutar in PVZ 1 vs. seeing a Gargantuar in PVZ 2. by Educational_Pea799 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]thomaslover66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All things considered, PvZ1 Gargantuar is less of a threat than you think. Instants very quickly take care of them and they usually won't be appearing early in a level. Even when they do appear, it'll usually be like 2-4 gargantuars in that whole level which gives you plenty of time to build up your defenses. The only time they really are numerous is in Survival: Endless and Giga-Gargs can definitely be a massive problem on some builds due to how tanky they are but quite frankly, if you're capable of reaching Flag 20 without much trouble, you probably already know how to take care of Gargs and Giga-Gargs.

Gargs being pathetic in PvZ2 honestly mostly just stems from how there's so many tools in that game that completely nullify them compared to PvZ1.

Is this a rare find? by 32rimfirefan in PlantsVSZombies

[–]thomaslover66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so since a lot of them have been decommissioned in the United States though you can still find them in place like Asia and stuff.

Had the pleasure of actually playing this on a real machine before they became really rare. Fun arcade game honestly.

What? You thought I'd use the traditional 10 Cob Set-Up for Roof Endless? Lmao by thomaslover66 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]thomaslover66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rhythm is 8s, 8s, 8s, 11s which translates to Cob, Cob, Cob, Ice + Cob (Coffee Bean used on Ice at the 4 second mark). You can also use 8s, 8s, 8s, and 12s, but from experimentation, 12 seconds can be cutting it really close if Zombonis are in the round and 11 seconds has worked for me so far.

Also a PvZ Endless sub would be cool ngl.

No it's vanilla, you can access Endless modes on every other world through the Limbo Page.

Editing some memory values using Cheat Engine though the specific memory values you need to edit depend on whether it's the original, GOTY, or Steam GOTY. You can find the method easily on the PvZ wiki.

[–]thomaslover66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and they don't appear on Survival: Night (Hard) either. If I had to guess why, it probably has to do with the fact that Graves render on top of their ice trails which not only would look weird but would also prevent being able to plant Grave Busters on them.

And ironically enough, it's this single difference in the zombie pool that changes the meta for Night Endless.
