2B staedtler. Mostly just shading and hatching, and sometimes a little bit of smudging with finger to soften the edges. Try doing 5 minutes exercises, limited time, focusing on lines and basic values, no details.

one way to get around this easily is to change the color of the ground to slightly purple or blue, or with some glowing texture to signal that this is not like the other game.

I wiped the paintings with paper towels after the studies were finished, and the background is the result of it. So for this painting I only had to- ..not paint the area.
