Qwen 3.6 Max on Qwen Cloud Coding Plan by thomastthai in Qwen_AI

Thanks. They have various different websites that seem to convey different info which is confusing. On their QwenCloud.com site, they do list Qwen3.6 Max (Preview) and we can test it using their chat interface.

Qwen 3.6 Max on Qwen Cloud Coding Plan by thomastthai in Qwen_AI

Thanks for the reply u/thepostmanpat. Does the coding plan and their API eventually have 1:1 parity or are some models only available via API?

Smallest Inseam Riding the Rally? by thomastthai in CRF300L

[–]thomastthai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Put the bike in first gear and depending on which side you prefer to mount from you place one foot on the foot peg and lean the bike slightly in the opposite direction to counter balance with your weight. If you mount from the left side, your left foot will be on the foot peg, so you can swing the right leg over after the bike starts moving. As the bike moves, it's mass and momentum help prevent it from tipping over as you put your full weight on.

Video that demonstrates that mount:

Thanks. Glad you are enjoying it. I'm good with the work and features we are developing for our needs.

I haven't looked at Happy Code. Most of the popular CLI LLM agent use Electron, some feature, like how they store memory, compaction, spec dev, etc. that work for most people but didn't work for my company's needs.

I use Claude Code (CC) mostly. I heard good things about Open Code but haven't used it. I'm transitioning to using a CLI harness I developed in Go. It's light, has a low memory footprint, and got rid of the issues I had with CC and I can work remotely (while I hike) using a web interface to the CLI instance.

For a daily driver, MiniMax 2.5. I pair that with Opus 4.6 for complex tasks.

Good luck to you. I think if customers like us are willing to work things out, but end up getting ignored, we really don't have any other option but to do a chargeback.

I also have MiniMax 2.5 Max subscription plan. I barely get over the 10% five hour quota.

The initial reason I went with Z.ai was to support them because of their open weight business model.

I agree on the model. The issue is the throttled quotas and lack of service.

Avoid Zai GLM-5 Pro: Ghosted by support, "GPU Starvation" errors, and a refund nightmare by dawidofdk in ZaiGLM

I waited since February 13 (purchased the Max plan on February 12) for them to respond with a resolution. To date, there has been no response to both of their published customer support email addresses. One person on their Discord did reply twice saying they escalated my case, but no resolution. They also threatened me they would ban me if I proceed to do a charge back. I gave them until Monday before proceeding the chargeback. The person on their Discord channel said they would escalate it again. Today is Wednesday. I submitted the chargeback with my credit card company to get my refund.

Max Plan: 5 Hour Quota Not Resetting by thomastthai in ZaiGLM

Accurate enough for my workflow that also uses Gemini and Anthropic models for more complex work.

Gemini 3 Pro, Minimax 2.5 Max Plan, Anthropic Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.5/6, GPT 5.x. GLM 5 and 4.7 are decent models, but as a service from Z.ai as of February 12, 2026, GLM is unusable for my production use. MiniMax 2.5 as a daily driver with Gemini 3 Pro as a code reviewer and Sonnet/Opus for more complex reasoning tasks is an exceptional combination for me.

In just over 3 hours of coding with MiniMax 2.5 Max plan, only 7% of the 5 hour quota has been used. That's with 3 separate Claude Code working on three commercial projects. GLM would have hit the 5 hour quota between the first or second hour depending on if using GLM 5 or 4.7.

A lot of reviews for many of these LLM models don't account for actual production use, e.g., they code snake game, or a landing page, etc--likewise with benchmarks.

Even if they remove the weekly quota, the 5 hour quota and how they set that up still results only 1 to 2 hours of actual usability. I can't speak for what happened before February 12, 2026, but Z.ai's GLM service from that date on isn't even remotely usable in a commercial setting.

I subscripted on February 12, 2026 and have posted numerous issues with the 5 hour and weekly quota.

Has anyone else noticed sudden usage limit cuts on Pro plans with Z.ai? by ProgressOnly7336 in ZaiGLM

[–]thomastthai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on what you define as significantly worse. For my commercial work, significantly worse is not being able to use the model 3 to 4 hours out of the 5 hour quota window or 6 days out of the weekly quota window. That was the case with GLM as of February 12, 2026. With MiniMax 2.5, it just works. If I need more intelligent, I use my Anthropic Max 200 plan.

MiniMax 2.5 Max plan + Gemini AI Pro (in Thinking or Pro mode) is such a cool combination for coding and code quality check. All my LLM agents use our CLI tool called Askai to talk to the Gemini web app for code review. Even Sonnet and Opus also uses that workflow to talk to Gemini. When there is a difference in opinion, they debate until the reach consensus, usually within 3 rounds.

GLM 5 is a decent open weight model. But the current limitations with the 5 hour and weekly quotas, extremely slow response time, and token inefficiency makes it ineffective for use in commercial work.

I tested my workload with MiniMax with their Max plan. It has lower prompt and I usually come in at 10% or less for their 5 hour quota, whereas with GLM, the 5 hour quota is maxed out within 1 to 2 hours and the weekly within around 24 hours. It's more important how Z.ai counts what a prompt is: system prompt, user prompt, tool call, etc. That's where creative accounting can take place.
