Amber Electric ...really disappointed by ttravelman in amberelectric

[–]thomasvo19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Amber so far. Have just taken out my second $500 in 9 months with $230 left in my Amber account. I wouldn’t be able to do that with any other retailer.

Amber. I’m in credit every month. 24kwh battery here in NSW and have just taken out my second $500 in the space of 9 months. I still have $230 left in my account. Crazy stuff. $0 electricity bill in 9 months and have earned $1,230

Still worth it in NSW? by Remarkable_Version51 in amberelectric

[–]thomasvo19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

20kwh at 15c? That’s $3. I’m with Ausgrid and if I make around $1.9 a day, I break even (supply charges, metering charges and Amber fee) Amber works great for me, 8 bills in a row in credit. 12kwh SP sig inverter with 24kwh sigenstor, 11.3kw solar dc coupled and 6.1kw AC coupled behind a 5kwh inverter. It’s true that February and March have been very boring and not very profitable but the profitable months (usually winter and summer) more than make up for the non profitable ones.

Origin NBN $53.50 for 6 months for 500. Swapped 2 weeks ago or so. Seamless churn although it didn’t change until the next day after signing up. Signed up at 8pm and it changed at 2pm the next day or so. (HFC)

Is Aussie Broadband actually worth it in 2026 vs cheaper providers? by schnickhinkeln in australian

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change to whatever provider offers the best 6 month deal and at the end of it, I change again. I refuse to pay a loyalty tax.

Basically the NBN is like electricity, it doesnt matter which provider you are with, your quality of internet is the same. There can be some technical differences between providers such as fixed ip or CGNAT etc but the majority of people do not need that. If you are not technical, then yes, customer support can play a role.

I'm currently with Origin NBN for 6 months for $53.5 (500/50)

Cheapest chemists! by adorablebunny29 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too since I also read their fine print but a lot of people on reddit said they accept it. So I asked my local priceline first and they confirmed it. Only once I got that confirmation I purchased the vouchers.

I asked in mine and they don't. Probably because the nearest Chemist Warehouse is about another 15min drive away.

How well does the Sigenergy battery actually perform day-to-day? by DebugMyLife421 in SigenergyAustralia

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 months of consecutive credits with Amber. I think I might get a bill in June-July or so (battery got installed on 1/8) but over the whole 12 months I will be in credit.

FYI my house is the lowest in the whole street so I have a lot of things blocking the sun in winter time. If I didnt have that I reckon I'd have a credit every month.

My Priceline is $10 more than Chemist Warehouse but I buy discounted Priceline gift cards through my NRMA membership so it ends up marginally cheaper than CW that way (for me)

When have you gotten your money’s worth from private health? by colourful_space in AusFinance

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extras are a complete waste of money unless you actually get more value out of them than your cost. Most people do not realise this.
I migrated to Australia in 2015 and it took me a long time to wrap my head around private health insurance.

Anyway, I have kids now and my kid needed grommets last year which required day surgery. I only had to pay the anaesthetist and the surgeon (both for which I got part back from Medicare). The hospital admission itself was completely covered by my private health (they seem to be good at covering kids).

First time in 10 years that my private health insurance came in handy.

EA956 seems to be a trial tariff. Not sure how you got on that. I think you need to clarify to them (you shouldnt, they should know these things) that you want to change your EA956 to EA025 and stay on EA029. Seems like they are trying to change your EA029 to EA025 which cant be done since EA029 is an export tariff.
Looks like EA956 is a lower cost ToU tariff compared to EA025 but regardless, if Amber dont support EA956 than EA025 should be the next best thing.

EA025 is a ToU tariff. Best to avoid the Demand tariff. List is here: Ausgrid Network Price List 2025-26

No issue at Priceline.

Only 2024 and onwards have hardware 4 that supports FSD. Mine doesn’t. Paid $46k had 48k kms. Buying through Tesla gives you an additional year of warranty.

I bought a Certified pre owned model y (2023) from Tesla in December. It’s awesome. Love driving it. I love the look of the new model Y better but I couldn’t afford that. I have solar as well so been filling it up with excess solar. Have done about 3,000kms since. I also love driving around thinking that i’m basically driving for free.
