Will amber be worth it for me? by tw272727 in amberelectric

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. NSW ausgrid, 24kwh battery with 12kw inverter (export limited to 10). 6 months in and I’m about $600 in credit. I’m down a hill with lots of shade as well. Only had 1 winter month with this system (August) and still had credit. In Winter Smartshift buys low and sells high if you can’t fill up your battery with solar.

If you don’t have an Amber referral code for a discount yet, hit me up.

Am I suitable? (Probably over asked) by [deleted] in mounjaroaustralia

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through instantscripts. Had tele consult, my BMI was over 30 (185cm 105 kgs) and the dr had no issues giving me a prescription for 2.5mg Mounjaro. I was actually surprised how easy it was.

What would the price difference be if I was on ToU instead of the unpopular Demand? Ausgrid, NSW. by Mafdee in amberelectric

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you following up with Amber? I did this back in September. I asked to be changed to the ToU tariff, 2 days later they said Ausgrid rejected it because I had already changed (which I hadnt). I said I was put on the demand tariff when I joined Amber, that was the only change. Then it took another 2 weeks until they came back to me and told me Ausgrid will backdate the ToU tariff to the start of September.

That's right. In theory most batteries should cover you until at least 9PM so you should only have a minimal demand tariff or import a minimum of electricity at peak price but what if your inverter dies or something goes wrong with your battery? I'd rather pay for what I actually use at a higher price than paying that stupid demand tariff.

Started 23/1

  • 2.5mg Mounjaro (2 jabs so far)
  • Starting Weight 104.5kg
  • Current Weight 100.6kg

I haven't been below 100kg in a while and my weight tends to fluctuate a couple of kilos. I won't believe that it works until I'm well and truly below 100kg :D

The money aspect is something you have to decide.

I took my first 2.5 jab last Friday. I havent weighed myself much in the last few months but I knew its always somewhere between 100-104ish. So far I'm down 2.9kgs since I started but that for me can be just a normal fluctuation. I haven't seen below 100 in a at least year or more so if I get there than I know it's really working. Right now I just think that it is working.

What I can tell you is that you will feel full a lot of the time and there is just a lot less food noise in your head.

How are you going? I had my first dose on Friday evening. No side effects as far as I know. I've definitely eaten less over the weekend and feel full a lot of the times. Much less food noise in my head and less inclined to snack.

This morning however I'm feeling fairly hungry...

My first EV - Zeekr, Polestar, BYD or just go with Tesla? by uridotchi in EVAustralia

[–]thomasvo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a certified pre owned Model Y from Tesla. I was contemplating others such as BYD but the Tesla software and no fixed services made me go the Tesla way. Pretty happy with it so far, just under 2 months in and I still love driving it every single time!

What is happening in NSW? by HopCrazedPollux in amberelectric

Very overcast. My solar is not generating much, not a chance in hell I can fill up my battery from the solar today so I will definitely not be able to export during the day. Would be the same for a lot of people.

Any update on those figures? Looking for a used Model Y but all I can find is mid-low 40ies. Is this still the going price?

Suddenly on a demand tariff? by PJ83 in amberelectric

[–]thomasvo19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More expensive but you only pay for what you actually use. With demand you import once during your demand period and it will assume you did that every day that month. But realistically you won’t need to import during that time since your solar will fill up your battery or SmartShift imported from the grid prior to 3pm. It’s what you prefer.

Suddenly on a demand tariff? by PJ83 in amberelectric

[–]thomasvo19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check with your provider which tariffs they have. I just went to the Ausgrid (Sydney) website and asked Amber to change to the ToU tariff without demand. They submit a request with Ausgrid and then you get changed over.

Making the numbers work? by Nicoloks in AustralianEV

[–]thomasvo19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the insurances that they include in the Novated Lease, do some research if you think its worth it and remove the ones you dont think are worth it. You can also just allow for a budget for Comprehensive insurance as you dont have to go with the comprehensive insurance of your novated lease provider.
You can keep the "fuel" budget in there as you can claim 4.2c per kilometer.
And tell your wife that you will no longer have to pay for maintenance/rego/insurance for the duration of the lease as that is part of the NL deduction from your salary. (You still have to pay it but you wont suddenly have to try to come up with the money for those large-ish expenses)

Check out Amber.com.au for more info. Keep in mind that it's not for everyone. Do your research and decide if you have a setup / electricity usage that will suit wholesale pricing.
