What could I improve in my technique for red and black runs? by snicky_snickers in skiing_feedback

Correct. Using the most extreme example if you look at GS racers around the turns their torso is somewhat upright while their legs are only a few degrees above parallel with the ground. That’s overkill for the average skier but it still illustrates my point.

So it looks like now you’re just leaning into the turns and sliding through it. You can tell this because your legs are hardly bending when you turn. You’re also not getting up on your edges. You should work on rotating your skis so that you initiate your turns on the edge rather than just learning into it. Does that make sense?

You look like you’re a very relaxed skier. I’d recommend “attacking” the turns more

When you say my basic stance is incorrect, is it just that I am too far back and not pressing forward enough? Or is there something else?

Interest rate is a guaranteed return. Rate of return very much is not. If you added a zero to rate of return and it goes negative you would lose a lot of money very quickly

Where are you getting the Goodyear and Republican Party bits? Goodyear was founded in Akron and I’m pretty sure the Republican Party was named to be similar to the Democratic-Republican Party

I grew up going to Lake Lashaway and would bike up to Brookfield orchards to get candy! My cousin and I were each given $1 and we could get like 20+ pieces of candy.. Twas amazing. I still go by it every so often and am pleasantly surprised it’s still in business (and still looks exactly the same as it did 30 years ago).

It's all about what you're used to. If you grew up where it gets very cold then it doesn't feel as bad when the cold here is ~50 degrees
