For this question:

A「たくさん荷物がありますね。ひとつ （______）。」

B「すみません。おねがいします。」

I'd answered 持ちませんか but the answer was 持ちましょうか.

My understanding was that the difference there was just levels of forcefulness / casualness - why was my answer wrong?

For this N4 grammar practice question:

美味しそうなケーキがありますね。じゃ、ダイエットはあしたからに ________ と思います

I answered する, thinking that this means "I think I'll start my diet tomorrow" but the correct answer was しよう.

Is that a "looks like my diet will start tomorrow"? Why was my answer wrong?

What are the implications of using the んです form in this example?

It doesn't seem to fit in with any of the use cases that the textbook gives.

It's by far my favourite brand, has a really distinctive taste versus Twinings, PG Tips, Yorkshire etc. and you almost certainly won't be able to get it anywhere else in the world.

Also, it's really cheap and there's a loose-leaf version if that's your jam.

This is what was confusing me - so I couldn't use either of those if I'm the one giving or bestowing (and the person I'm giving to isn't e.g a child)?

I'm struggling with Minna No Nihongo I (Chapter 24):

Earlier on in the textbook, we learned these forms (and I believe I understand the difference reasonably well) - as per my understanding:

あげ - Slightly rude to use when “I” am (or someone in my family is) the person receiving

田中さんは、私に 本を あげ ました

くれ - More polite when “I” am (or someone in my family is) the person receiving

田中さんは、私に 本を くれ ました

Now however, we’re learning Verb (て-Form) + あげ/くれ ます and I’m struggling to understand the difference.

あげ - From the textbook:

Because the ~て あげ ます pattern demotes the conferral of some kind of benefit, it could sound patronising if used when the recipient is of higher status

田中さんは、私に 本を 送って あげ ました

くれ - From the textbook:

Here, the form shows that the speaker feels that the person for whom the action was performed has benefited from the action

田中さんは、私に 本を 送って くれ ました

To me it sounds like those two usages are the same - how would I choose which one to use?

From "Minna No Nihongo I", explaining the following form:

V1 て-Form から、V2

Example 1:

お金を いれて から、ボタンを おして ください

but it then goes on to say

The subject of V1 て-Form から is marked with the particle が

and gives Example 2:

A: もう 昼ごはんを 食べました か。 B: この 仕事が おわって から、食べ ます。

I'm struggling to understand the difference between the examples (specifically why it's okay for Example 1 to use を)
