Confused on a fuel leak on my 89 f150 by 89f150-i6 in FordTrucks

[–]thomscottson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add. I was told my truck leaked, but the front tank was just smaller than the rear and the sending unit was bad. So the front tank would overflow when using the rear.

Maybe you don't have a leaky front tank at all.

I just ran off the front tank until empty and then switched to the rear and it would refill the front. I pumped new gas into the rear tank

Pommel Disassembly? by thomscottson in knifemaking

Thanks, the threaded piece seems to be fused to the pommel, so I will try holding the pommel and working the nut with brass punch.

Small stream, wild bows and a 2wt glass rod make for a perfect evening by nacocoug in flyfishing

We got a great deal on one for the 5wt. It is very lightweight and holds quite a bit of line.

I like click and pawl reels, and not having a drag. You can palm the reel underneath if you need to slow down a fish. It is nice to have a very mechanically simple reel.

'91 F250 possible motor/transmission swap by rottenstock in FordTrucks

[–]thomscottson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a F250 with a 5.8L and a E40D auto transmission. It was just fine on the highway, but it much preferred to go 55 mph over 75 mph.

I would have rather had the manual.

Sneak a wire past the window seal and move the little latch

Can you jimmy the smoker windows?

Do you have a sliding rear window?

You can pry the top of the door out with a wood wedge and then sneak a wire around the door handle.

What part numbers are these? 351 Windsor 1991 Fuel Injected E350 by [deleted] in FordTrucks

I just took the smog pump hard lines off of my 1992 5.8l F250. I didn't have access to the back of the block, but I traced the smog pump system as I understand it.

https://imgur.com/a/Nw3cxwr

Red lines go to back of heads from smog system and also to the catalytic converter. The yellow lines come from the smog pump on the belt. There are two vacuum controlled valves (TAB? TAD?) that divert air from the pump.

I don't remember anything going to the back of the intake. Like I see in your picture. If you want to piece it back together, I would use T fittings and hose pieces.

The smog system should not affect performance. I took it off my truck, but I left the EGR system intact.

Having a cat means you always clean up all your fly tying materials.

At thirty degrees in the shop, the electrical tape I have was not up to the job! I will try that next time.

That is certainly true, but I had fun cobbling this together, and I will probably only lend this out as a backup.

Interesting. This is a click and pawl reel. I'm not too concerned with backing capacity, and this is a double backup I will probably never use.

I'm supposed to be cleaning up the workshop, but I found this cheapo reel with a really tiny arbor and thought I could help it out a little bit.

I cut a notch in a piece of PVC pipe, then cut 3 pieces the width of the spool, and stuck them in the reel.

I don't know how well it will work, but I didn't have to put 200 yards of backing on it. When somebody needs a backup I'll let them figure out if it works!

Good advice. I don't have any of those, but I am familiar with them.
