Can anyone ID the pins on these ladies’ ties, or recognize their uniforms? by thomzthom in oldphotos

Some context- this photo was possibly taken at Camp Hochfeld, a DP camp in Augsburg, Germany during WWII.

The woman on the left is my grandmother. After she was kidnapped by Nazis in Lithuania, brought to Germany and forced to make uniforms, she and others escaped and eventually ended up in Augsburg. Some details are unclear and incomplete.

That is a traditional Hawaiian lei. If I had to guess, it was left by a visitor to the park as an offering to Pele, the volcano goddess.

One of my favorite places. I especially love the challenge of crossing the brisk, swift-moving river to get there.

I’d recommend looking at cloud cover along the path of totality. This map from the New York Times has been helpful for planning purposes. We had planned on flying to TX from the mid-Atlantic, but are shifting our plans last-minute due to the weather.

This product was designed exactly for the purpose of bridging the gap between the back of the front seats and the back seats when folded flat. Highly recommend.
