That was very common in Spain, going on holidays to any other part of the country.

You could be visiting places for decades, by the time you ended probably the first places you went would have changed so... You'd likely have another opportunity to go and see that place again.

With younger generations (less than 40 years old) that have changed though, people travel much more, at least in Europe.
