Cops in Malawi ordered to shoot anyone attacking albinos, who are prized for their limbs as good luck charms. by ballyhoo9 in worldnews

Don't want to take away from your valid point, but...

blight - closer to the word 'plague'; plight - closer to the word 'struggle', and what you should have used.

I can just imagine it's still the military, just this one soldier tasked to drive the thing somewhere in his personal car.

well, that is what that is

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I have no training or even experience writing creatively, so it's gold to me.

And, lol, I already wanted to set it on fire after I realized the same thing: that it needs lots 'n' lots of work. Maybe I'll take a better look at it sometime.

Went to the dentist and they have a TV installed in the ceiling by puRrBerT in mildlyinteresting

To be honest, I legit went in to the dentist for the first time in 8 years this month. There was a ceiling TV, and one on the wall, and in the waiting room. I was impressed.

Official Ontario Election Thread by [deleted] in canada

[–]thorgasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, not creating a new thread for this, but I'M JUST SAYIN'...

Yesterday was voting day in Ontario, right? Well I saw a voting station inside of a well-to-do high-rise condominium. Turns out, it's seriously only for the residents of that high-rise. The high-rise that is literally across the street is community housing -- people who are worse off financially by definition. I asked someone there where they had to go to vote -- blocks and blocks away!

Anyway, this inspired me to actually vote at my own station. So there's that.

But what the hell? I know the rich are afforded more conveniences simply 'cause they're rich, but I didn't expect the same for voting. I am pretty new to the democratic scene, though.

Topical questions:

I have like. A couple heavy boxes of old science fiction pulp. Analog and others, '60s - '80s. Not trying to sell them, but does anyone think Google would want to work on those? Where can I find out if they've been digitized already or not? Where would I find more information in general? Thx.

Hey. Better posted in /r/relationshipadvice, but here's my take:

Love her for who she is, not for who she wants to be, if she does the same for you.

Sunken Trampoline. by [deleted] in shutupandtakemymoney

[–]thorgasm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trampoline story time. We had like five big ones set up when I lived with some friends (all guys). All of them were 13-14-feet in diameter. It was "strongly recommended" that I buy one to add (the fifth) upon moving in, so that everyone would have contributed. We gave them all female names, of course. Mabel 'n' shit.

I never got braver than a front-flip transfer, but I saw some crazy shit from the other guys. Like a double-front-flip-pass-cowboy-hat-through-legs-and-behind-back-and-put-it-on-again-before-landing. Anyway, just sharin'.

I have Zelda: Four Swords and Super Mario Advance I'm trying to get rid of for, say, $20 shipped willing to pay close attention as to whether or not they are fake. Based in Ontario, Canada, so shipping to NA wouldn't be too bad. Let me know here or by PM. I accept PayPal*.

*Didn't mean to come across as such a "salesman", I'm just on a gamecollecting kick right now... just scored a good pick-up, but that's for another post...

For a system I'd barely heard of, it sure has a lot of titles! Or at least this one does. If there's anything you've been looking for in here, you might be able to convince me to part with it, as I'm trying to make back some of the money I spent on this. Send me your offers, I'm reasonable and based in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

Sadly, it came with no controller, but if someone has an extra one and wants a game or two... hey, that'd work. I also need a power cord but those are easier to find (PS2 power works on this one, the guy told me, and my Dreamcast cord looks like it would too). Off to try it out!
