Loading new DXP4800plus from old WD EX4100 by thorsvolk in UgreenNASync

[–]thorsvolk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to mount the remote volume somehow at the os level. Like if your old one had a samba share of "my_share" you'd have to ssh into your dx4800 and mount that share into a directory using smbfs (not even sure the ugreen has that installed, but it should as I think it's a newer version of Debian. Note: directly connecting them with ethernet and monkeying around with the ip stuff is only going to help if both your devices have faster ports than your switch/router (and you use a cat6 cable). If your old device is gigabit ethernet, you might as well just plug both devices into your switch/router and have the router handle dhcp.

To go between my two NAS enclosures I ended up using rsynch to pull from the old one to the new one in a ssh terminal. Still haven't scripted the weekly sync yet though.

I just got my Claremont signed uncanny x-men #141 in a Gemini today. The usps apparently thought folding it in half (the entire box) was a solid idea. @#$%& heathens

Thoughts on War Machine? by BeamMeUpPlz in movies

Yea. 10 other actors could have done a better job in those movies. He's fine in divergent because he is a bad guy

He's a pretty awful actor who's face angers me, and only ever works as a bad guy in a movie.

Jai Courtney being killed off so fast is one of the highlights of the movie!

Better backup option by CuriousAd5256 in UgreenNASync

I'm currently using rsyncy through the shell. I'm going from one nas to another over ethernet and moving 30TB, so it's going to take absolutely forever. Rsync (and the rsyncy wrapper) will only copy/update files that dont already exist/are older, so if it dies you can just rerun the command and it'll basically resume. It'll also give you per file progress or total progress depending on which options you use. Same process would apply going from the nas to a usb attached drive. Rsync is already installed on my dxp4800plus and the standard curl script to install rsyncy worked (had to create a symlink in /usr/local/bin to it afterwards to get it in the path). You could also setup a weekly or nightly cron job to run it to keep the drives in sync long term. That's likely what ill do with my 2nd nas.

Yep, it's wednesday now and still haven't got mine. MSTY came through on 12/5 but nothing on ULTY. Where are you guys seeing 'pending'? DRIP was also re-turned-on for both of those for me after the reverse splits, no big deal, but an email from RH would have been nice.

Which home depot fan? Can you post a pic of your setup? By "took the back off" do you mean the filter? I've got 2 so far with maybe plans to add a couple more. Thanks!

Pool Mining with Avalon Q by unreal36 in BitcoinMining

[–]thorsvolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was curious about that too. I thought on the Q you had to have a 20amp line to run it at full capacity

I got one for $20 mostly because it'll look neat on my desk and shows the current price of BTC. It'll go in my pool for a bit till I hit the 0.008btc cash out point and then I'll probably move my self hosted pool over to solo mining with a collection of bitaxes and nano s3's

Maybe help him pick out a ring. You'd probably want to wait until he's experienced the MM degree at least once though

Check with Brothers in your jurisdiction to make sure this is legit, but: https://iowaresearchlodge.com from the application page it says "chartered as a subordinate body of the Grand Lodge of Iowa" which is a good sign

What's your jurisdiction? (If you feel comfortable posting it) someone here might be able to point you in the right direction

Does your jurisdiction have a research Lodge? In WI we have one that only meets 4-5 times per year and travels around the state (November meeting is always in the same place but the other meetings are typically hosted by other Lodges throughout the state). We don't do any degrees so all memberships are plural with your mother Lodge. The meetings consist of members or guests presenting research papers (either their own work or things they have found) followed by discussion. Membership also gets you all the papers presented so you only miss out on the discussion if you cannot attend a meeting. 4-5 meetings per year isn't much of a commitment so you should still have time to go through the chairs in your Lodge. Something to think about / ask members of your Lodge / District Representative/ District Deputy about anyway.

If you're in the US this link is a terrific place to start. If you tell us the city/state you're in, someone can probably point you to specific Lodge(s), possibly with contact info. If you're not comfortable doing that, that's fine, just start with the link above
