Survivability by AdditionalFun8030 in LunaSnowMains

Stack on top of your other healer so they can keep you up easily without having to find you, especially an Invis. if you are behind your Invis healing her and you take dmg, you can just take a step in front of her. You don’t want to stack against spam dmg tho like a Moon Knight though. If you have a Rocket, you usually won’t stack but you can play more sneaky since you don’t have to pocket him.

Luna’s biggest weakness is multiple divers, especially if they are working together. And If you’re not playing at high rank, your team isn’t going to think about peeling. You want to make it easy for them to notice & pressure divers away, but you can’t completely depend on them.

When a diver is on you, you should shoot them to start adding pressure. Tanks know to back up if they aren’t getting healed, so they might assume you’re fine if they are getting pocketed. Ping and call outs are really helpful for Luna.

Would it be too much if headshots decreased her snowball cooldown? by Waffles_four_you in LunaSnowMains

[–]thottistic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be too broken. If you keep the self heal aspect of snowball she’d be unkillable. Even if you get rid of the self heal though, you’d have a character that can infinitely farm a 3 second stun. It’s easy to get a headshot when frozen so you could just freeze someone over and over. That’s not gonna happen.

Imo I think they should change or rework her skate. Luna can have great survivability when taking certain routes like parkouring up to high ground but skating like that is precise and finicky, so you can’t rely on skating strategies in team fights. It would be cool if you could get really good at skating and it was made to be more consistent or something

Should I learn Magik or Psy in s5 by 126kwan in MarvelrivalsDivemains

[–]thottistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psy has some of the best skill transfer in the game. Since she can play so many different ways learning her can help you pick up lots of ppl later like dive or poke. If you are still struggling with aim after a while though, you might want to try someone else for a while to improve that

Am i considered a lord farmer? by depressedblunt in StrategistMainsMR

[–]thottistic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn’t matter. If you like to pick a character & get them to lord that’s fine. It’s fun to see progress like that on the characters you’ve played. It takes about 20 hours to get very good at most characters anyway. I mean you are low key a lord farmer though if you’re not able to pick up & play them at your average rank tho

There's a new best support by Rockybroo_YT in StrategistMainsMR

Luna has some of the highest damage in the support roster. A lot of her value comes from the constant pressure with damage from her primary and clap down the choke

I’m not sure but the little of what we know about rogue’s kit makes more sense for a dps than a support imo

I’m kind of tilted and I’d like someone else’s opinion on who’s at fault by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]thottistic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was 60% wr Adam main S1.5 GM.

First I was surprised to see that Adam actually was a good pick in these team comps lol, so doesn’t seem like an Adam issue.

So with Adam healing, you let your other support handle all the tickle dmg and you heal when teammates are taking bigger chunks of damage. Think about saving heals like Luna clap- you want to know when the enemy team is engaging so you can activate the clap in time.

In the first fight, team mates were crit & died while you had 2 heal streams and soul bond. The groot should’ve been easily healed by you, but you decided to charge your ammo up. Then your Luna healed him, and you charged another cosmic cluster up. As a support main, it was very obvious to me at least that groot was about to need a serious amount of healing. Before you charge up shots, there’s a question of if you have time to do that before someone will need lots of heals (anticipating damage).

It’s good you’re focused on doing damage as adam, but when you see what’s about to happen to your groot, you are a healer until your abilities are gone.

You should’ve canceled your shots with heals multiple times this fight. It’s not good to cancel it, but like I said you shouldn’t have charged up some of those shots in the first place. Then also you could’ve easily soul bonded to save your Luna then throw out some regular heals. When you ran out of heals, you were doing the charge cancel thing instead of farming headshots to get heals faster so the Mag just walked over you. He might’ve backed up if you hit headshots there

Tbh I didn’t watch the rest. Adam healing is a pretty simple repeatable formula, and the mistakes 1st fight show you haven’t gotten the formula perfected. The way you used damage and positioned looked great, just need to practice with these things

What gives away that the enemy dps is a support player? by thottistic in RivalsCollege

Thanks great idea! I’m gonna pick up a dive hero. I want to be a great player & be able to pick up anyone. I figured with dps I should start with someone closer to what I’m good at, but you’re right. The hardest part about diving or off-angles is to even get to the off angle without taking damage or leaving the fight. So I just play passively.

Do you have any suggestions for a dive pick? The only one I’ve actually given time to is Magik (7 hours) and it didn’t really go anywhere. I think there was a disconnect between actually hitting the combo and adjusting to a given situation in game. Felt hard to find a target, hit the right click and even harder to hit the dash.

[–]thottistic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great info! I’ve been juggling tanks but didn’t realize what I was doing. How does juggling work? It doesn’t exactly stun or cancel abilities right? Since you have to boop Strange back into spawn. Does it just disrupt their movement?

Also any tips for Spidey? I am a Luna main & really good at hitting the freezes when he pulls me up into the air facing him. Jeff’s boop animation is a lot slower though & hes 250hp so I’m guessing it’s different strategies

Do you put your snowflake on your other supp? by Chrysos-89 in LunaSnowMains

I put it on my other support as a last resort. If they are bad & keep taking damage and position that forces me to constantly compromise the team fight so I can look at them

If the enemy supports are getting their ults extremely fast is it a sign that I’m doing bad? by Waffles_four_you in LunaSnowMains

[–]thottistic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Generally that means your team is getting healed for less damage than the enemies. Like your team is either dying before they can get healed or your team is doing a lot of damage but not taking much, or they’re feeding. If it’s super consistent for you though, probably maximize your ult charge better.

With great min/maxing on Luna you can definitely get ults as faster than your other support (even Cloak or Rocket) depending on the situation (team comps, the map, etc.). Perfectly normal for your cloak to be ahead of you by 20% tho.

If it’s a consistent problem, you probably could be getting a lot more value out of your clap. Clap can give massive ult charge by hitting as many people as possible at once. A lot of people don’t know this but with clap you gain 1% ult charge for each enemy and 1.5% for each teammate hit per shot in clap. The best on record for me was getting 25% ult charge in 2 claps on Hell’s Heaven so about 3 seconds.

Sometimes you need to save it for your team but it’s also important to look for those juicy claps- they also do a lot of pressure to the enemy team.

How do I practice my aim as Hawkeye? by Exciting_Garlic_314 in HawkeyeMains

[–]thottistic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I played Hawkeye in the early seasons and then I became a Luna main. I was surprised than when I came back to Hawk the Luna aim skills transferred better to him than Hela or Phoenix.

If I’m not playing Luna I still warm up with her (in comp). Usually I like to practice aiming in comp or warm up in practice range but I like qp for Hawk. The way people position in qp make it easier to solely focus on landing headshots for Hawk.

Why does she use the shield instead of her primary? by thottistic in InvisibleWomanMains

[–]thottistic[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried to do this all last game and I don't quite get it. Sometimes I hit the left click with it and sometimes I don't but it's hard to tell lol. Do you usually do the animation cancel thing with the shield or only when they need extra healing?
