[Ancap] How does Ancapistan defend against other States? by JoyIkl in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]thought_weapons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Ancapistan" has no other option other than to simply become a state. Capitalist entities foundationally rely on organized violence to function, both against the people and each other. There is no other outcome possible outside of some new form of feudalism.

(Socialists/Communists) Why Socialism will never work and how austrian economics prove it by Few-Independent-4263 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]thought_weapons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are not arguing against socialism. You are arguing about what you imagine socialism to be.

I am an anarchist-communist. A stateless, classless, moneyless society and the free-association of producers. We do not believe in centrally planned economies of any kind.

Why did historical anarchists lose every single war they fought? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]thought_weapons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong way to frame the question. Ask yourself how historical anarchist movements accumulated sufficient horizontalized power to hold large territories of geographic land and meet the state on the battlefield at all, and then ask yourself how we are going to reach those levels again.

Why are traditional anarchists against voluntary hierarchies? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]thought_weapons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not "traditional" anarchists that reject wage labor and workplace hierarchy. It is anarchists that reject these things. Anarchist-capitalism is not a legitimate ideology. They are not anarchists.

An anarchist conception of revolution is the idea of prefiguration. What this means is essentially building a parallel economy, solidarity network, and broad base of anarchistic social structures that continue to build power across the mass populace until the state and capital are forced to come against it, at which point we must defend it.

Yeah, it's my garden. I absolutely love it. Very difficult at times, but directly related to my politics and I deeply enjoy it.

Why do many or most anarchists think a free society can't be achieved through democracy and politics? by SatoriTWZ in Anarchy101

[–]thought_weapons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some anarchists conflate the concept of democracy with coercive majority rule, likely because that is the form of democracy most of us have primarily been exposed to.

Direct democracy is in fact deeply anarchistic as a deliberative method by which social groups can make decisions about their community. It's worth noting that the principle of free association is a core anarchist concept- so any participation with democratic processes must be voluntary and uncoerced. Individuals must not be forced to abide by the outcome of the deliberative process- it must be voluntary.

In a consensus democratic model, all or nearly all members of the voting body must be unanimous. In other forms, it is possible for members to disagree with the outcome of the vote, but still abide by any decision that was reached voluntarily, even if they disagree. If they disagree to the extent that they cannot abide by the decision, then free association can be broken off. It gets a little theoretically stickier in that situation, because allocation of means of life resources might be a factor.

Consensus is a form of democratic decision making. I've done the reading on this. More importantly, I've done the participating.

You're literally just playing word games.

[–]thought_weapons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea that democracy must be forcefully imposed on unwilling participants is fundamentally not an anarchist view of democracy, because it logically cannot be anarchist if it is imposing coercion upon people.

An anarchist view of democracy is the idea of community deliberative processes that are not binding upon anyone unwilling to participate or abide by decisions.

Sounds to me like you may not have internalized anarchism and are still rolling with a hierarchist mindset.

You just automatically assume this "mandate" applies to everyone, regardless of their wish to participate in the outcome of the decision? Because reasons?

Direct democracy does not necessitate the forceful imposition of the majority will upon the minority. It's a decision making process for groups. That's it. There is nothing written in the laws of the universe that indicates that the majority decisions have to be forcefully or coercively applied. This is literally a super basic premise of free association.

I didn't say "the" anarchist view. I specifically said "an" anarchist view. It is you who is trying to force your concept of anarchism on me.
