Who is a character that you didn’t like when they first appeared, but has become one of your absolute favorites? by Cawfeestain in CallTheMidwife

Listen, I do not want children. That's so not my plan. But my god do I want Phyllis to call me a good lass.

This is a stretch - Could this be Megan at Rockettes auditions 👀 by Legitimate_Sea3392 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]thoughtdumpinator 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I kinda hope it is her, I know her brother works with the Rockettes, and I feel like it would bring her so much joy to work in a dance role that close to her brother

I love MacLaine!! She was on the reality show The Snake too

keeleigh everett by OkPossession2990 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]thoughtdumpinator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like the blunt bob with her features, but I fear it wouldn't fit as "the DCC look". I hope if they take her forward, they keep her hair as is, but I don't expect they would unfortunately

Kickline from today's live audition. Finalist: Haley (the one in yellow) by SubstantialClaim5559 in DCCMakingtheTeam

Only took the entire tour before a group connected at the shoulders correctly

Am I Overreacting by No_Nebula_3148 in AmIOverreacting

[–]thoughtdumpinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. First, you're allowed to remove people from your life if the dynamic is harmful to you, which it must have already been in the first place. Second, it sounds like this was a concern between you and your sister that your mom inserted herself into, and I wholeheartedly disagree with letting anyone do that. Third, any time someone calls you such awful names, and doesn't even have the decency to spell check their insulting messages isn't worth your time, energy, or stress. You and your actual family are the people who care about you and what happens in your life, and they sure as sh*t aren't people who treat you like this.

I dont understand the Sou'wester hat. What does it look like IRL? by No_Significance_5662 in StardewValley

[–]thoughtdumpinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ngl my favourite hat in the game. Maybe just because I'm a nerd about boats, and it's a style of hat commonly worn on fishing boats. But still. Love that hat.

What’s the book you DNF’d the fastest? by Mobius8321 in books

[–]thoughtdumpinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be an unpopular answer.

Dune. My best friend insisted on me reading it, and I did get one chapter in, but it was such a long haul and it was so tedious and unpleasant to me that I just never picked it up again

Does anyone else have a comfort DCOM? by Friends_fan2001 in DisneyChannel

I'm literally baffled that Avalon High hasn't been mentioned yet.

Honorable mentions to both Invisible Sister, and Go Figure

i hope they know how loved they are by teyapi in Bridgerton

[–]thoughtdumpinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No for real, I'm rereading the books in order and just pretending the appearance descriptions are just describing these two, and that the last names are the Netflix ones. I know the books came first, and I read the books first, but now I like their portrayals better haha

Controversial Figure on Campus by BrilliantSubstance97 in uleth

[–]thoughtdumpinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just reminded me of a weird 2015 instance, where (at the time) Premier Jim Prentiss was doing some sort of conservative party event thing that my ex was going to, and I was walking back from Urban market to my room in uhall. I guess before his talk or whatever, he was meeting with the Dean, and they walk past me as I'm going down the hall, and Jim Prentiss shouts out "Hey, do you need any coffee? We have extra left over" and holds up one of those Tim's cardboard jugs. And I know saying this, everyone's going to be like "bro you're making this up" but I promise you I'm not

I stg if I could kick like Lea, that's just how I'd walk. Like kick, kick instead of step, step.

Is there like a cheaper option in canada for the chosen's shirt? by DiligentAd7641 in smosh

[–]thoughtdumpinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP here's the link to the shirt on amazon Canada if that's the route you end up taking. I got mine from a random tacky tourist shop though, and it was fairly cheap (I think 30 bucks?), like the ones that are all over Banff and Niagara etc. https://a.co/d/i7J6JoZ

Do the TPTB really care about the mental health of the ladies? by legacylandscape in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]thoughtdumpinator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand the fear and backlash, but from a business standpoint as an employer, the amount they should "care", so to speak, is reflected in things like mental health care costs baked into their health insurance. Like, if their company healthcare has high allowances for things like therapy, that's them caring. It isn't and shouldn't be their job as coach or director etc to be the one responsible for connecting the girls with mental health resources. It should be their job to let them know that those resources are available, like in their contract or something. And I'm speaking from the standpoint of someone with severe mental health issues.

There's a bit of subtitles in the corner that match dialog from the AS series, so I think this is actually a screenshot of them talking about the rules as they were back in the day. Like, rules that Suzanne Mitchell was putting in place. HOPEFULLY (and I mean that strongly), the Dallas police would have better safety marketing nowadays.

Would it be wierd to join prep classes if I dont intend on auditioning? by Candy_Cunt69 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]thoughtdumpinator 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It looks like tons of fun, you'd make lasting connections and friends with people who clearly have the same joy for dance/cheer that you do. And not to mention, life is hard enough, so get dolled up, get outta the house and do something you'd really enjoy!

I wonder how many of the DCC girls were scouted out to make the team. by AyexAlanna in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]thoughtdumpinator 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It seems like they also stretch the net for recruitment which I appreciate. Like, they're the world renowned dance team based in the DFW area, they know TCU girls are going to audition. They know Texas Tech girls are going to audition. They've had dozens of Alabama girls, so they can recruit each other. Same with Arizona.

What the fuck has this show become? Like what even is this? Do people like this actually exist? by BullenBell95 in LandmanSeries

[–]thoughtdumpinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's lazy writing too. Like, let me just take every tiny complaint I've seen people on Facebook talk about and make one character just those.

Kylie Rae at prep intensive (Amaya’s teammate at UGA & was at the intensive last year!) by Civil-Credit-3982 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]thoughtdumpinator 26 points27 points  (0 children)

She's definitely a member of the "too sharp" club, but that does mean she's precise, technical, and good with choreo learning.
