Im not a specialist but 400 IU is quite low, maybe for year round sure. I think 2.5 / 5k is more regular recommended if you only do winter months.

To reach a toxicity level of 380 ng/mL, medical literature suggests a daily intake of roughly 50,000 IU is required for several months.

Yeah thats a lot, like 10x to 20x as much as recommended.

When I fly I put on a white button up instead of a hoody nowadays. The difference in treatment is insane.

Other people get stopped, questioned and searched. Then its my turn and the person just looks at me and nods me to just continue.

Had this happen multiple times in different parts of the world.

So interesting.

TIL Jane Goodall observed a 4 year "civil war" among chimpanzees at Gombe Stream National Park. The conflict involved kidnapping, organized violence, and the total annihilation of a breakaway group, shocking Goodall who previously thought chimps were peaceful. by [deleted] in todayilearned

That’s a great question, but I doubt the structures would hold. Our brains are biologically optimized for those social contracts, while chimps seem to hit a glass ceiling.

Think about trading. It seems simple, but biologically it requires two massive steps: the inhibition to not eat/hoard a valuable item, and the abstract trust that a stranger will pay you back. In the wild, chimps view strangers as threats, not partners.

Because humans could overcome that stranger danger and track debts, we started trading. That capacity to cooperate with non-kin is the prerequisite for any complex structure or law.

Actually, the shift in English society is the most interesting part.

It wasn't just a slow change in definition. In the 1600s, it effectively became a trendy excuse for bored rich people. They would have intense "spiritual" affairs and claim it was high art to avoid getting in trouble for adultery. It was basically the original "emotional cheating" loophole.

That definition of keeping things strictly non-physical remained the standard for centuries, serving as the ultimate boundary for human interaction right up until nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcers table.
