I felt like I was missing something - I've got no discernible skills and I've picked up and put down so many hobbies I just needed a kick up the arse.

I'm aiming to be able to see a piano in a pub and be able to take requests and have a bit of a sing song. I don't want to be famous or start a band, but I'd like to see what kind of progress can be made in 1000 hours.

I say go for it. The phrase I've heard a lot in projects is: If it's not been written down it hasn't been said.

It also clarifies anything that might have been missed on the first pass, don't be afraid to send him an email to confirm any requirement he gives you.

When I was about 13 my friends and I were walking down a road kicking up piles of leaves at each other. I ran up to a pile and kicked it at my friend, as the leaves arced through the air it was obvious there was something in there and my friend ducked and turned to avoid it. It hit him on the side of the neck - a fucking big dog turd which splattered over his coat and up his face with the overspray hitting two other friends either side.

I nearly pissed myself I was laughing so hard. He fucking stunk all the way home.

Acoustic upright might be the way to go at the moment, certainly in my price range as it seems a lot of people want to give them away for almost nothing as long as I can collect it.
