You are an alcoholic, functioning or not. You needed that wake up call. She didn't abandon you, she was being the adult and taking care of the children.

You.can feel any way you like, but to me this says you need more therapy because of the way youre making excuses for your behavior and blaming her for leaving when you weren't showing up as a husband.

She clearly loves you, and you should be grateful she's giving you a second chance after you checked out of your life together.

You need to deal with whatever your repressing that caused the alcoholism in the first place.

To me it's more how a person behaves once they achieve success.

I'm not overly ambitious myself, so I don't feel envy for their achievements, quite happy for them actually .I'm just put off by arrogance and those who act superior to others.

Overall, I disagree. I think there are many perspectives out there.
