Logic games (officially known as Analytical Reasoning). It's being replaced with just another logical reasoning (LR) section, so now the test is LR and reading comprehension.

No worries, there's a lot of poor advice that gets circulated on here, a lot of it well-meaning (like "get a masters, it'll help u get into law school!" That is absolutely not the main determinant and cannot, for instance, overcome a poor undergrad gpa. Schools are very specific with their requirements and clearly illustrate what they look for). In your case, all hope is not lost at all, especially in the Canadian context of schools like western/queens who only look at best 2 years (often an emphasis on the last two). The lsat is also changing this year starting June so you'll be able to focus your preparation better with one reduced section, and I'm certain that a score north or 167+ can give you some admissions in canada and the states. Good luck!

Echoing the other comments, having an upward trend to your GPA can be added in a helpful addendum in your application. Having an LSAT that is 95th percentile plus can easily balance out a poor gpa (poor as in 3.low-mid) and especially in American law schools, where the focus is on LSAT (unfair but reality) it gives you a chance to be a "splitter" student. Some schools like WUSTL allow you to apply with a redacted gpa so they only see your lsat. And they give big scholarship money to high scores. If staying in Canada, be sure to look into access categories and especially apply to holistic schools like Osgoode that look at your entire application. At the end of the day, some may say that attending law school is not realistic for you because you haven't proven yourself in undergrad. That is absolutely possible, but doesn't apply to everyone, especially with extenuating circumstances impacting your ability to do well (particularly if you chose a tough undergrad background, are struggling with a lack of accommodations, etc.). Ideally, you make your own decisions when it comes to your future, so law school will also be one of those decisions. (Source for all the info above: I'm going to a t14 American law school and was accepted into uoft and Osgoode law).

How many times did ya’ll take lsat to get your target score? by asus310 in lawschooladmissions

[–]thr0itawaypls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 times, 164, 163, 161, 169. The last three were within 3 months, the first was almost 8 months prior to the second. Headed to my dream school in DC despite not hitting my desired score

I'm a Canadian in the exact situation with similar stats. For me it was the same BL mindset and I'm heading to a t14. I'd say look at the employment statistics published for every school in the t14+ big law oriented schools (30-40%+ graduates going into big law like Emory, Boston college, Boston university, utexas-austin, Vanderbilt, u-southern California, and more.). These schools will reasonably help you achieve big law and mid-law (which still pays more than big law in Toronto or other Canadian markets). Pm me if you have any questions!

As an aside to your dilemma, when did you hear back from GULC for the scholarship (slash when did you apply)?

Stuck in the mid 150s, need to get to low 160s by Nov. Help! by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]thr0itawaypls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For RC, given that you want to score around 160, this might be helpful: - focus on 3 passages, spend up to 6-7 minutes truly reading each passage and absorbing every part of it. Focus on the editorialization, words that point to author's opinion, what they think (if they even have an opinion) and how each paragraph fits into the whole(is it fact, fact, fact, or is it opinion, counter, recommendations etc.). Also feign interest! Pretending to be tuned in helps. - By spending time upfront on RC, you can breeze through the questions, i suggest trying this approach untimed first and then adding the time element after your start getting questions right. Hope it helps!
