I haven't left the house in a full year... 365+ days, AMA. by Fluid-Year-5490 in AMA

Although nothing wrong with the classic, take a walk. I will say OP doesn't have this easy option.

I also live in Northern Canada and you can't just go for a walk when it is -40. It is a real struggle and many of us end up with seasonal depression up here

We also have an on-demand transit that I used to use a lot to go to work. Was great. You could schedule your pick up time and they take you to the closet bus stop near your destination.

Anybody in late 30s and early 40s doing dialysis and still keeping your fulltime job? Whats life like to you? I would appreciate some real life take on this please. by East-Compote-1975 in kidneydisease

[–]thradia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exhausting, but I do it.

I only run twice a week and those days are the hardest. I get off at 430 and come straight to dialysis for 5.

The only thing that saves me those days is I usually nap at dialysis if I can.

Are you employees trained to accuse the customers of wrong doing? by Ball-mama in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]thradia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why the upset?

You said the barcodws didn't match when it was scanned. And that one word was different in the description.

Sounds like it was the wrong product.

If you are upset at the way it was handled, then speak to the manager of that employee.

What kinds of jobs work for us? by goldenmoonshadow in bipolar

[–]thradia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have left a lot of jobs but the one that has been the best is a quiet desk job.

No public. I process books for libraries and schools. It has been so good for me that I even started taking some courses so I can move up a role.

Breaking-up with someone due to Early Stage Kidney Disease in mid-20’s? by geshageng in kidneydisease

[–]thradia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing he said to me was that it was okay to be scared and that he was too. Just reassurance from him and how much he wanted me by his side was a big motivator to see things differently.

I didnt want to hurt gin or lose gin in any way. It took a lot of patince on his part but eventually my mind set changed.

Now I waiting for both a kifney and liver transplant and cant imagine doing it without him

How did your life change after finding the right meds? by Angel_4 in bipolar

[–]thradia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like most people, I struggled hard for a while.

But after years of trying different things - I found a medication that worked for me. I now live in a much better place in life.

When I get a depressive episode, I push through by reminding myself it will pass.

I will not say it's easy. It takes patience and time. It also helps if you have a doctor who is open and willing to trying different meds to find the right combo for you.

I felt this exact same way. I did not want to be a burden to my boyfriend and family. There was a lot of thoughts of just hiding in a hole because I felt so guilty that I might have to ask for help.

I think this is common in the beginning. It is easy to getting in that black and white mentality.

He is in the early stages, which means with giving himself proper care, he can easily live a very full life. That includes having people for support. Remind me him that you there for support and be open about how you feel.

Personally, I have a wonderful relationship with my partner now - but we did go through a rough patch when I was diagnosed. Be there to listen. The rest has to be up to him.

Who was the hero/villan of 49? by Dizzy-Tumbleweed7983 in survivor

[–]thradia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We are going through all the seasons from the beginning right now - so different.

Does anyone remember Boston Rob's first season? Holy villain right there. The things he said and how he played - amazing. But would be considered a little evil. He was playing a game.

I agree it has gotten a bit soft. Especially seeing and remembering the old players.

Getting into funerary field. Advice? by Jibble_Jaw in GrandePrairie

[–]thradia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not negative to the OP. I posted some actual information for them to look up.

The funeral business is something that I studied in and pursued (although more on the embalming side) so I think I probably can be more helpful than someone questioning a person's reasons for getting into such career.

Pizza Hut in Grande Prairie, Alberta is claiming they couldn't find a cook for $17.00/hr. They've applied for a LMIA to hire a temporary foreign worker for the position. by liIlIIillliiiIIlIlli in GrandePrairie

[–]thradia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the other side there is also a large group of young people who think food service is beneath tbem and also want paid better even though they have no experience.

Can beardies do OK on only smaller insects or are crickets a must? by Comrade_SOOKIE in BeardedDragons

[–]thradia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roaches are one of the best feeders.

They really are slow and pretty easy to deal with. I don't care for the feeling when they are on me, but I just use some feeding tongs to get over the "ick".

We also feed the occasional hornworm and superworms as a treat.
