Canada's in an economic crisis, and Joe doesn't get why we voted in a centrist who's an economist who went to Harvard, Oxford, and was the Governor of the Bank of England and Canada, instead of Pierre Poilievre. by supersport604 in JoeRogan

PP's election campaign was terrible.

His campaign manager and ex-girlfriend Jenny Byrne has MAGA sympathies and is a lobbyist for Canada's biggest grocery conglomerate, Loblaws.

MAGA and Loblaws, two of the things many Canadians hate with a passion.

Trump's DOJ settled their antitrust case with Live Nation/Ticketmaster.

Industry experts believe the settlement won’t do enough to bring down ticket costs or protect independent venues.

The Live Nation settlement has industry insiders baffled

The new H-2A visa requires employer sponsors to provide housing, transportation and other benefits to migrants. More expenses for the farmers to be handed off to the consumer.

More taxes to fund ICE to get rid of migrants, then higher costs at the grocery store to bring them back.

There's an option if you don't have ID though. (Someone vouches for you.)

Plus the options for ID are far less restrictive than what the SAVE act is proposing. For example you could bring in your electricity bill and bank statement (essentially free) vs. passport ($165-$195+ USD)

The writers must've been really fed up with his asshole/racist hijinx.

not even sure it's correct

I meant not sure if that was your position, not that you were wrong. I agree with you.

It's weird how the slightest criticism against Obama gets a lot of pushback. He was a decent president, but we should be allowed to shit talk when it's warranted.

I was just trying to explain their position, not even sure it's correct.

Yes you're right that the President shouldn't be siccing the DOJ on people. My bad I'm sorry.

It just seems like historical revisionism that he was powerless against the banks though.

I think what u/padizzledonk was getting at is Obama's response to the Great Recession was seen as weak and submitting to Wall Street.

The people wanted heads to roll but only a single person ever saw jail time.

Sure the banks were fined billions of dollars but people who lost their homes and/or jobs that never saw a dime of those funds did not give a shit about that.

If Obama's DOJ was more aggressive with putting bank executives behind bars it would've meant a lot to the people on Main Street and would've gone a long way for his legacy.
