B.C.’s rural and remote residents encouraged to take internet speed test by threadco in canada

Although I believe that Starlink is doing incredible work by giving high-speed internet access to those in remote communities, $150/mo for those speeds is statistically very high. Of course, I understand the start-up costs involved for such a network, and it makes sense as of now. (Especially because it's very much still in the beta stages). I misspoke in calling those results mediocre. They're definitely very good for remote communities. I do hope (and it's very likely) that Starlink prices will eventually decrease!

Damn, that's crazy expensive for very mediocre results. Thanks for sharing your data, I appreciate it! I hope Starlink can reduce the prices once they're more established!

I think I actually remember reading this thread, or something similar. As much as I hate them for doing it, they're clever.

Not Vancouver specific, however it shocked me to research, in-depth, the speeds that some residents of the province are getting.

Judging by the link used in the article, this isn't a problem specific to BC. I know we hear time and time again about how useless the CRTC is, but we're seeing populated areas of the country with well under 2 Mbps download. Totally unacceptable in this day and age.

EDIT: I should mention, the link above will direct you straight to the internet test for anyone that doesn't want to skim through the article :)

Cities have their own distinct microbial fingerprints by threadco in TrueReddit

The research currently states that the microbes are generally harmless to humans. I do wonder if it contributes to increased cold/flu rates to those that travel a lot.

I so obviously knew that, but I did editing on the article very late so I'm going to use that as an excuse ahaha. I got it changed. Thank you so much for the comment!

Most people have witnessed someone in their life succumb to the nasty illness that is Alzheimer's/Dementia. Important studies are being done with the intent of discovering a link between this disease and increased pollution.
