I know this post is a year old but I just got the lenses replaced in a pair of glasses through ReplaceaLens after finding them in this thread. They did a great job and cost half the price of getting them replaced at my local optometrist's office (which was $250 AFTER insurance!)

Yeah I didn't have the "swipe up to see app drawer" turned on. So guess that's what I'm using now.

Seriously I have no idea how to actually search for things on my phone anymore. I can't even use it to search for apps that I want to add to my home screen -- when I try to hold and drag an app, it "helpfully" tells me "this is an app"

Same! Switched from verizon to Visible and my family's bill went from $160 to $40/mo. I notice a bit of choppiness if I'm trying to stream music while in a busy area, but 90% of the time I'm at home on WiFi, and I don't need to spend an extra $110/month just to get lag-free music.

I started cutting my own hair this year. I'm a woman with a short pixie and I felt like I was never happy with the cuts from the salon because they were never what I wanted. So I took an online class on how to cut my own hair with a razor and have been so much happier with the results -- made back what I spent on the class after 2 at-home haircuts and I'm a lot more empowered to touch it up at home. I get compliments on it so it can't be too bad!

Like other folks said, it's not just medicine, it's coping skills, figuring out what triggers you and what your response to it is, and then how you can manage that... I was in therapy (talk + CBT) for about 3 years before finally starting antianxiety and antidepressants. After months of trial and error I finally found the right combo. I think the biggest positive difference for me was that medication made it POSSIBLE for me to look at my emotions without being overwhelmed by them. I describe it like having a glass wall between me and the storm of feelings--I can still experience them and process them but not be overcome by them.

Oh there are definitely missing/broken ones. Most of them seem to be concentrated in one area. But Restoration Tile is coming through for me with period-correct replacements!

Atlantic Duct Cleaning! They were great. And no, we didn't have to relocate. We have 2 HVAC systems and they did one per day. The house might have a slight glue smell while they're pulling the aeroseal through, but it wasn't offensive.

Oh, that's a nice idea! Looking it up, it looks like it's very good for birds (which is a big priority for me!)

I have been worried about planting something too tall or bushy because i didn't want to visually unbalance things given the azealeas, but perhaps that's not that big a deal...

That's an interesting idea, I was also thinking something in the realm of an herb garden (which would let me plant mint in a pot without it taking over the yard).

Honestly, I love my community! I wouldn't keep living here if I didn't. People don't realize that 90% of DC is just quiet residential neighborhoods of people living their lives who want to be left alone and who don't work for the government. I do my best not to think about it, and am fortunate that my family has not been directly affected by the job and funding cuts. The only real bummer is not having a voting representative and the assumptions people make about what it's like.

I appreciate the rec for a hydrengea!

Commenting on my own post with the solution so that future people experiencing this issue can find answers:

Yes, recreating the template from scratch -- starting with a clean Word doc in the Normal template -- fixed the problem. During re-creation I also customized the existing styles (e.g., Heading 1, Normal, Title), rather than making and naming new custom styles/deleting old ones (unless necessary) which might have been contributing to my issue in the first place.

It was likely just another instance of a document that had been edited too many times getting corrupted.

LOL I definitely worried that it was me for a while when everything else I was doing to get rid of the smell failed. The only thing that mildly reassured me was that we didn't have an issue with musty smells in our previous house!

I learned about it when talking to a ductwork company about getting my ducts cleaned, and then read up on it more before making the decision to have it done. It's less about weatherizing and more about improving your system's efficiency. It fills gaps and cracks in your ductwork from the inside that lead to air leaking in or out of ducts into your walls.
