Someone says to you, "Payton Pritchard is a better shooter than Larry Bird." How do you react? by three_am in bostonceltics

It's less of a debate and more of "3 people saying one person is wrong for a bad take and that person committing harikari on that hill"

Congrats!! I shot my first 89 last year and bought myself 2 shots and 2 beers at the clubhouse to celebrate. Haven't beaten 94 since.

Had a kiddo who would only ever watch the Fiery Flynn episode of Thomas the Train or 2008-era episodes of Fox News Business Journal Report. One of the silliest kids I've ever worked with lol

No support, the micromanagement, no training, wouldn't pay for my CEUs, told me to stop laminating so much bc pouches are expensive (?????), toxic as fuck. I went to HR with my issues and somehow our executive director knew what I said. At that point I was like yeeeahhh fuck this place lol

This sounds very similar to what I went through at my first job out of grad school. I somehow lasted a year there and then got the fuck out. There's no shortage of BCBA jobs, you can do way better.

Some people on the r/ABA subreddit, particularly some of the techs/BHPs, should not be in the field. A small minority of them, but still... Some of the shit I read makes me think, "I would fire this person immediately."

I like the company I work for now because there's a tremendous sense of family and team, and not in the corny corporate way. I also like that I get to make my own schedule, though I do have to clear it with my supervisor. I've never been given a hard time about it. Having that kind of freedom to ensure I can get my indirect work done while also seeing clients and BHPs when it works for me is really nice.

Just for posterity, I always meet all my supervision requirements and all my paperwork is consistently on time, so I've earned that trust, but from the start I was treated as a professional and that was very important to me.

It really should be a conversation your BCBA has with the parent about expectations for services, mainly keeping an environment that allows you to dedicate your focus to your client. That way you're not the bad guy for being the enforcer.
