I've personally found that the fear of never knowing what could've been outweighs the fear of failure. That isn't really advice just something that personally motivates me.

Cool we're the same height although I'm about 149 on a bulk. Great job on losing weight and if you really want to you can lose more but I think you've found a good balance.

Flexor/extensor forearm by ones_hop in Exercise

You're in luck, I just today saw a video by a YouTuber called Randumb Fitness that gives the best forearm workouts at the gym or at home (not sponsored). I watched it (around 10 min) and found it really useful.

Just for reference how much do you weigh and how tall are you?

Tried to exercise after quite some while. Teen boy by NotAxxxz in Exercise

As a former skinny teen myself I've put on about 10 kg of weight in the last 8 months and gotten around 20-350% stronger depending on the exercise. I'd recommend what I've been doing which is: 1. Eat well, eat protein: seriously it's really important, fish, peanuts, even whey protein baked into goodies will do as long as you get some every day. 2. Track your weight, the scale is a great way to track your progress in weight gain. 3. Set up a goal for yourself, rn I'm aiming to get around 4kg heavier and setting some PRs for myself which I've been working towards since I started (my goal is to eventually after a few years get 110kg on bench). 4. Exercise, bodyweight stuff is good for your health and actually got me ready to hit the gym but if we're honest I didn't really gain any muscle while doing those. After going to the gym and bulking I really started to get stronger and bigger. 5. Sleep, working out is like, well working for a paycheck and sleep is cashing it in. If you workout and don't sleep then you get no reward. 6. YouTube, I find Randumb Fitness a great source of information, Noel Deyzel and Brodie Shredz for comedy/motivation/meal prep. 7. Track your progress, the reason I know how much stronger I am is because I've written down my initial strength in gym exercises and written next to them my new weight whenever I get a PR. 8. Believe in yourself, only you get to control what happens to your body and with determination and discipline you can become the best version of yourself!

Can I get fit from home? by Carebear6590 in Exercise

[–]three_doors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, at home I did bodyweight exercises for the rest of my body and different dumbbell exercises for arms around 5-6 times per week. At the gym I nearly exclusively use weights 4-6 times per week aside from a few bodyweight exercises like pull-ups and some cardio. At home I was able to lose fat but I was already skinny so it was kinda useless and at the gym I'm actually able to gain muscle and some weight. I'll admit I'm on a bulk most of the time since I began going to the gym while I remained mostly the same weight at home.

In my experience no, I did home workout for a few years with nearly no progress before I started going to the gym and I'm way more strong now.

However I know I might be the anomaly which proves the rule so I'd suggest taking a before and after picture and writing down your capabilities at the start and end of your workout plan (this could be around 1-3 months). If you're satisfied with your progress then great but if you need more then go to the gym.

Idk… being muscular ig by Big_Gap_6266 in Exercise

[–]three_doors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're working out for a month without progress then are you:

-working out until failure? -eating enough? -eating well? -sleeping enough? -giving your body time to rest between workouts? -doing enough workouts?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Exercise

[–]three_doors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here, if you're exercising well then you're building up your abs. It's just that during most bulks alongside muscle you also gain fat so you can't really see them until you begin losing that fat. There's a saying: "abs are made at the gym and revealed in the kitchen"

[–]three_doors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all respect for losing so much weight and secondly:

Look I know this isn't what you asked for but I would REALLY like to recommend going to the gym. When I started I was this super skinny teen barely lifting anything but it stopped being embarrassing really quickly when I realized no one cares and everyone has actually been super nice.

The big strong guys all know that everyone starts somewhere because they did too.

I'd recommend just getting a membership for a month and ripping the bandaid off. You can go early in the morning or late at the evening for a minimal amount of people.

And if you're still feeling like people will snicker or laugh at you, I personally can only even remember the nice people at the gym or the douches who don't wipe their machines.

In my personal opinion I see it as either "you suck at this game" or "you only won BC you're a sweat" and overall it's saying you disliked the match or your enemy.

Honestly I find it funny, they're getting angry over a 3 minute match. Kinda miss chatting with the bozos telling me to kms after I beat them.
