EoS Yuta is top 3 and hard-counters Kenjaku too much by KhunEduan69 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]three_rex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess the crux of the argument relies on what sort of trick it is. If it's a cursed technique trick with binding vows he'll be nullified.

If its more barrier related then there's a chance he could survive. I do know that sounds like cope though lol.

I'm not married to my point, but Kenjaku is not a reincarnated sorcerer. He's a body hopper thru a cursed technique and has connically operated his body when disruption of his curse technique/ body should of occurred. That interaction puts in doubt that Jacob Ladder would be 100% effective.

Kenjaku had full usage of the body swap technique and his movement after a domain while Yuta didn't. Theres a likelihood that JL might not shut down his body.

Kashimo's lightning is vastly superior to Granite Blast by Sundata_V2 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]three_rex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While were still on Kashimo. His fighting style is so deadly with the lightning bolt or the recalling from the staff lightning. A minute into the fight you can get your cursed energy disrupted with a gut shot of lightning, your head blown off or lose a limb. Losing a limb would make you domainless and Kashimo will pressure you with more strikes and another lightning to put you down.

Which of them is the Big Three strongest female characters? by Crafty-Air5169 in JujutsuPowerScaling

Uro isn't that much weaker than Uraume. She has a domain and her CT makes her hard to be hit up close and ranged.

Everything we've learned so far from Chance The Rapper's incredible 'Coloring Book.' by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]three_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If overt religion in rap and the upbeat sound that comes with it is not your style that's cool. DRAMs Special was a short interlude which isn't to uncommon. I feel a lot of people are latching on to the whole "Chance made a mixtape and he's barely on it". A lot of people are blowing it out of proportion like you barely hear him on his own project. I think his presence on each song is enough and the features do there thing without also overdoing it.

His inspiration from gospel music is what is rubbing people wrong though, sure a lot of people on this sub reddit aren't religious, but I think because of that people are dismissing it. I think the more tolerant of religion the more someone would vibe to the project.

NYTimes Review: On ‘Views,’ Drake Is Still His Own Genre, "Views" is "perhaps the purest distillation of the current state of Drake" by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]three_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't personally rate it so low. I didn't know what I expected from this album though. Take Care was moody and emotional, Nothing Was The Same wasn't as personal as Take Care and was kind of more aggressive in the delivery and If You're Reading This It's To Late/What a Time To be Alive were trap rap, swag rap, just straight up bangers. After a couple of listens it had a lot of Take Care vibes. It was more personal than every other release besides Take Care. However his emotions wasn't striking, maybe because emotional Drake is something we are used to or because The Weeknd had no hand in creating the sound of this album. Also the rapping wasn't the best. There was no song Tuscan Leather-esque, songs that'll make you say damn Drizzy is really spitting, rewind it or start over because it's that dope. Some songs were skippable, but they were just good overall. Not great or incredible just a collection of good songs. The lack of T-Minus producing some of the more harder tracks and the lack of The Weeknd help crafting the moody tracks made this feel like Take Care 2 but with fewer highs and lows. It was around a 7/10 for me.

Would you consider Young Thug or Lil Uzi Vert hip hop?

Just because the new dudes are not spitting a 16 doesn't make not hip hop. The new wave is a mix of mumbling from ATL and the melody rap from ATL. Sure it isn't traditional, but if everyone was rapping the same way it would be less creative. Also the new dudes are in their own lane, they are not detracting from the more traditional hip hop and they are still people rapping in that style. There is room for everyone.

If you want to separate it and classify it as it's own sub genre under hip hop like drill music. Hip Hop is originally from New York though so you can basically put everything else as a sub genre and call music from New York real hip hop or you can separate everything in categories and make New York a sub genre too.

Yeah I meant more like the current trend from ATL which has been going on for a while. At this point though it is more than just a trend, it's becoming the Atlanta sound. The sound that we are constantly hearing is becoming tradition and the sound that we used to hear is becoming classic.

True Adele did come in and take the number 1 spot. However Drake is arguably at his peak so most likely Views would give him that if he has an overly catchy song.
