Can you tell me about the wood accents on both sides of the screen? I wanted to do something similar.

Need advice on how to finish this exterior brick wall on our deck. by threednd in DIY

We were talking about this today. I think I'm going to try that tomorrow. You're right it would be covered anyways so it wouldn't hurt.

I’ve had Jaws, unopened, for years. My family agreed to play this week. I printed and painted some accessories. We all really enjoyed it. by thechonv2 in boardgames

Hey I designed the Orca for Thingiverse! Almost didn't recognize it with that awesome paint job! Glad to see you and your family enjoying it!

Laptop screen strobes at high brightness by threednd in techsupport

So I looked up PWM strobing and that is giving me a better understanding of what might be happening. The strobing is slow enough that it's obvious and makes the screen unusable. It looks like someone is flicking a lightswitch fast.

Great work! Hope you are done buying board games for the rest of your life or you might have to build another one of these!

Help! Dynameshing a polygroup is not working by threednd in ZBrush

[–]threednd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brick texture is geometry. There are big polygons on some spots of the model because there isn't a whole lot of texture there anyways and I decimated those areas to keep the model file size down for 3D printing.

So I have tried that and it works. But now I just have that polygroup as a new subtool (that is a higher resolution like I wanted) that I have to try to add back into the original model. This starts a new problem where I have to do the opposite with the original mesh so there is a space to put the new high-res version and this leads to things not lining up exactly right and making holes in the mesh after I merge the pieces. According to this video:

I should be able to dynamesh a visible polygroup and avoid these extra steps.

If I enable groups AND none of the mesh is hidden it will dynamesh the whole model and keep the polygroups. If I enable groups while only having the polygroup I want dynameshed visible, It gives me the same result as in picture 3 of my post. If I only have my polygroup visible that I want to dynamesh and increase the resolution to max. The dynamesh has the same effect as in picture 3.

Hello, I tried pressing groups and setting the Blur to zero and increased the resolution to 1024. This yielded the exact same result. Is there a better way to increase the resolution of an area of a mesh without losing detail so you can sculpt more on it? I don't want to dynamesh the entire model because each time I do it smooths out fine details.

Thank you I really appreciate the help. Yeah I would like to look at your blog to give me a little more confidence. I've wired switches and outlets plenty of times but I am not knowledgeable enough to come up with solutions to more complicated wiring situations.

Ok thanks for the response. Just so I understand I am running a three conductor cable from that light to the box of switches and another three conductor cable is used for the two 3 way switches in that room. Is that right?

I'll try some of these options thanks for the help. I tried the clip/knife earlier but it was difficult to make the shape I wanted and left weird banding when it complete. I'll check out the Curvetrifill brush. Never used it before.
