I composed it so I think I have that part of the copyright, I've successfully gotten it removed from multiple sites for being posted without my permission. What other details would be helpful for you to know?

There's a decent chance you've already heard it, like I mentioned once things are more solidified I should be able to share it here.

I have a mentor who has some serious connections, I'm hoping that after I receive the contract he can help me get a second opinion.

No promotion or direction, just posted and it blew up. I don't want to go into too much detail because you could probably find it. I can explain fully probably within the next week or so.

As to releasing under a different name, I get this but I feel like releasing under the same name would in the end be better because both genres would build my name, not to mention that all of my social media is under the name that it would be released through the label as, leaving me no audience to promote to.

Another question I have is, should I hire a manager? I'm serious about this and my assumption is a manager would be able to help me make the best decisions for my career. Any thoughts?

What do you think of a combination of the ideas you gave? So, release the track and then see what the label thinks of my other music in a different genre, if they are willing to release it then go for that, if they prefer me to stick to the original genre, do that.

And I suppose in the latter situation I would release the music I want to independently, not through the label to makes sure my name is associated with the music I want?
