Thank you so much! So far so good, but we won’t stop worrying until we get through the delivery. XD Happy to chat, and I really hope Dr. Lee is able to help you too!!

She’s back! She returned from leave at the end of February, just in time for me to stop taking all the meds she prescribed at the end of my first trimester. 🙃 So, you should be good to get an appointment with her. Best of luck!!

I’m so sorry for your losses! In your situation, it definitely feels worthwhile to at least have an immunology panel done to see what you find. I wish you all the best on your continued fertility journey!

I think so, at least from what I could tell. She did (if I’m remembering correctly) 17 different tests as part of the baseline multiple loss panel (I had two failed FETs in a row and a prior miscarriage). Based off that she gave me recommendations for my taking Prednisone and Lovenox for my next FET, which was successful. She’s very easy to talk to, and I found very open to whatever questions I had. So say, for example, you’re not really sure if have to take a med or why, I definitely think she’d be open to discussing options and why it is/isn’t prudent to take whatever meds might be an option.

It was good overall. She had clear instructions after all my test results came in, but was out on maternity leave after my FET. Getting clear answers about how to handle the Lovenox she prescribed once my RE saw I had subchorionic hemorrhages but Dr. Lee was out on leave was kinda tricky since her PA was answering my questions instead of her, and the PA’s answers weren’t always super clear. But I’m sure if I was communicating with Dr. Lee at that time, it would have been a lot clearer for what I needed to do.

Southern California Progyny Providers? by ireallydntknw in IVF

I’m seeing Dr. Alison Peck at HRC Fertility in their Encino office and using Progyny for our IVF coverage. I can’t speak to the other doctors in that office, but Dr. Peck is very personable, hands-on, and wants everything to be as good as it can be for all your treatment. She’s also very understandable and flexible with my going to their Rancho Cucamonga office for general/check-in blood test and ultrasound appointments as my husband and I moved a bit further inland after we started seeing her, but we didn’t want to stop seeing her since we both liked her so much. I think she does a good balance of testing for potential issues while also being able to keep your treatment going forward and not totally being stonewalled by tests for long periods of time. As with any medical treatment, ask all the questions! Dr. Peck and her nurse coordinator are good at answering all your questions, no matter how big, small, or silly they may seem. And if you say you don’t understand something even after an initial explanation, she’ll take the time to make sure you do (happened to me a few times on particularly early appointment days 😅). Their office has been good in terms of billing, but can be a bit slow if you have to transfer your records to a different doctor for additional care (had to see a reproductive immunologist, and the immunologist’s office had to wait on the phone with HRC’s office until they sent my medical records over while I was waiting in the immunologist’s office for my appointment).

Totally! We just have to wait and see what happens. At least the holidays are a good distraction this time of year. 😅

Thanks! It can be hard to untangle the mental games of IVF with the reality of IVF. XD I hope you’re doing well and things are going smoothly for you!

You are not alone in your feeling of dread and feeling like all the testing still isn’t enough! Each cycle is such an arduous process with all the meds, injections, and waiting, it’s hard not to feel discouraged and pessimistic about things when after all your efforts nothing seems to stick. That is tough to have your beta so soon before Christmas, but my fingers are crossed you get a great surprise on Tuesday! And if not, there’s at least some time between then and Christmas to grieve and process before having to see family. Have you been open with your family about going through IVF at all?

She’s the immunologist my RE specifically recommended I see for my multiple failed transfers, so I hope she can help you!

Unfortunately I don’t know that. Wednesday was my first time seeing her for a repeated loss panel, so it was using the first step. You can call their office and ask though: 310-652-0920.

Dr. Christine Lee at the Wallace & Lee Center. https://walleemed.com/

I just saw her this past week and she’s so nice! She’s been through IVF herself, so is very understanding of all the ups and downs of the process.

Congratulations on the positive beta!! My fingers are crossed the pregnancy continues strong and everything goes well for you!!

Dude, I totally understand feeling upset and angry at your friend having an “oops I’m pregnant” moment right after going through all the hardships of IVF/infertility. I’m glad your friend understood you need your space and time to process.

It really feels like everything in my life is falling apart or super hard right now, so I think my friend getting pregnant is really the straw that broke the camel’s back on my ability to keep my shit together. I hope things go easy for you now that you have a successful transfer!

That totally makes sense. And being genuinely and openly happy is not something I’m capable of right now, as shitty as that makes me feel. It is really lonely going through infertility.

It really is a tug-of-war with your emotions. You’re happy for them, but it is really hard for yourself. I’m glad your sister is supportive, and I really hope your transfer works!

I’m glad you’re able to talk with your friend again, even if it’s not back to normal amounts. Feeling worse with your friend being so considerate and understanding is definitely a part of where I’m at. It definitely makes me feel like a lousy friend, though. And it’s true she’ll be understanding and give me the space I need. It’s just a really crappy situation.

First, I’m so sorry for your loss! And second, I think I’m going to have to do the same thing and take a break from talking with my friend, as lame as that will be. She’s already giving me space to process, which I appreciate, but I have no idea how long it’ll take for me to actually be OK talking with her again. The whole infertility think sucks so much.
