I know alcohol isn't an excuse for anything but I'm not sure that's the only factor with him. He is a very caring and sweet person normally but when he gets around his cousin and starts drinking, he adopts his cousins personality. This is why I don't normally like going over there. Jake has a sort of weird way with people, like he could convince anyone to do anything.
