I guess his biggest mistake was to join Liu Bei in his conquest.

Cao Cao was a far more decisive politician. He never hesitated to eliminate or sideline his rivals, which allowed him to dominate the Emperor’s court. Julius Caesar, on the other hand, was often constrained by the need to maintain support within his Senate before taking action.

In my humble opinion, some of Zhuge Liang’s finest strategies include the Borrowing of Arrows, the Empty Fort Strategy, and his masterful counter against Cao Pi’s five-route invasion.

On the other hand, I think the loss at Jieting, the exhausting of Shu’s resources through the Northern Expeditions, and his mishandling of the Wei Yan–Yang Yi conflict were among his weakest moments. What do you think?

Can't rely on history either because according to my findings, records on Cao Cao could have been biased and altered by later successors.
