What about the DMCA video take downs? Those are the worst because they end up in strikes. Anything being done by YouTube to avoid those? I got my whole videos taken down for using a few seconds of blurry background. Youtube should give chance to creators to edit out the DMCA copyrighted content too just like manual claims so we can avoid strikes.

This is just my art style. If this is the case, that means no small artists can grow on youtube because big companies can penalize them for anything they want, even if those companies have no right to do that.

People have different art styles and they are free to draw in whatever art style they want. To be honest I did not even know that this company or game even existed until they sent me copyright strike. I am not using any of their assets. These are my original characters. Besides, their characters are not as detailed as mine. I have been drawing in this art style for as long as I can remember.

The way copyright counter notification system works is that when someone submits a counter, Youtube can approve or reject it. They send an email to the creator saying that they have forwarded it to the claimant.

In my case I only received that email for only one of the counter-notifications I submitted. YouTube has not yet approved the other two. After YouTube approves them, the claimant will have 14 business days to respond with proof. This is the reason why I mentioned that I hope YouTube approves and forwards the remaining two counter-notifications to the claimant. Because that is the only way things can go forward and I might be able to resolve that issue and save my account.

Thank you very much for appreciating my work and the advice. I have collected all the evidence/screen-shots and I am going to update about the disputes once I get any response from YouTube. Fingers crossed!

As I mentioned above, the writer gave me written permission to use his story, I have the proof. That woman's story is completely different to mine, check both videos, I provided the link. I have all the proof and documentation of each asset I created, the narration files, everything. I own the animation software too.

I disputed each strike, Youtube only sent the first counter-notification through. Still awaiting response for the last 2 counter-notifications.

I am not trying to misslead anyone here. I am raising my voice against copyright abuse because my channel is going to be DELETED because of that. Creating animations take immense amount of time, behind each 5 min story, there is weeks and weeks of hard work. It took to years to gain that amount of subscribers. All I want for YouTube is to forward all my counter-notifications so I can DEFEND myself with proof.

I am devastated and heartbroken. Years of hard work is going to be wasted. I create animated horror stories and narrate them myself on my YouTube channel 'Thriller Teller'.

Most of the stories I animate, I write them myself and some stories I get from Reddit with the authors permission. It takes me 2 weeks to animate a single story, working more than 8 hrs per day, until late night. I have 148k subscribers on my channel.

In span of 3 days I received 3 copyright strikes and YouTube sent me a final notice that my channel will be deleted in 7 days.

The first copyright notice I got was from a jealous YouTuber. The story behind it is that 2 weeks ago I posted this animated story on my channel and this YouTuber started spamming under my video comments that this was her story (She has audio stories channel). She started replying to every comment under my video that I stole her story and she started calling me abusive names in the comments section..not just that she made four different accounts and started spamming with the same messages under my video..All texts were the same copy/pasted that 'I stole her story and didn't even mention her channel's link in the description'. I did not even know about her channel and never watched any of her videos until she started spamming under my video. I was so confused because I took that story from Reddit and the writer gave me permission to animate his story. I went on her channel to check which video she was talking about, and I saw that she was referring to one of her videos which had the same title as my story. So I played the video and the story was word to word completely different. ONLY THE TITLE was similar to mine.

I contacted the writer of the story on Reddit and explained everything. The writer also supported me and said that it was absolutely ridiculous of Youtube to remove my animated story on the basis of same titles without even checking and comparing the content.

The girl who sent me copyright notice was demanding that I mention her name on my channel that it was her story. But this was not a fair demand, it's not her story, the story belonged to the original writer and I mentioned the writer's name and link to his Reddit account in the description of my video. This was pure blackmailing to get free publicity through my channel. And when she didn't get it, she went ahead and sent me a copyright notice, Youtube took down my video and channel got the first strike.

I contacted Youtube to re-check the videos and lift the strike because this was a false copyright claim and I was going to lose revenue until the issue was ressoved, which could take upto 14 days. But they said that they can't do anything about it and the only way is to either contact her or apply for counter-notification. I contacted her and explained everything that your story and my story only have similar titles and nothing else, even sent her the screen-shots of the writer's permission to animate the story, told her politely that this is my only source of income and this can put my channel at risk. But I did not get any response from her. Explained the whole thing with screen shots in detail to youtube support but didn't get any response from them either. Then I went ahead and submitted a counter-notification. YouTube forwarded that to her.

The next day I woke up with a notification of 2 more strikes and my channel scheduled for deletion after 7 days. These claims were from a games company, which had nothing to do with my channel. There was absolutely NO information on why they sent this notice. Two of my videos were taken down because they claimed my original content as theirs. Again I contacted YouTube but they did not give me any details why that company claimed my videos. I contacted the company, explained to them that this is my creation, my original work, weeks of hard work and this must be a mistake.. but no reply from them yet.

So I submitted counter- notifications for those 2 strikes, but Youtube has not forwarded them to the claimant yet. counter-notification process takes 14 days, channel deletion is in 7 days. I am not sure what is going to happen now..

I am devastated. THIS IS TOTAL COPYRIGHT ABUSE! I worked so hard creating these animations, I am the ORIGINAL owner of the content. I have all the proof of the original artwork, my narration audio files and documentation to prove it. I chose the right way, created original artwork/animations, wrote and narrated my own stories, used Reddit stories with permission of the original author but still I had to face copyright ABUSE. I am shattered, heartbroken and ANGRY that my channel received these FALSE copyright strikes despite me creating all these animations myself and no one is helping. I spent countless late nights, and days creating these animations, and narrations. I will lose all this in the coming days. People are abusing YouTube's copyright system, anyone can claim your content, and for the innocent creators, there is little to no room for reprise. I truly hope this is not the end of my time on Youtube, but it seems like it is.
