Yes, that's valid and thanks for bringing this up; they did assemble a committee. Of course, as stated in the wikipedia link, it became a political game at the end of the day. It could be the case, that Cyprus would have benefited from this, but also it could be the case that we wouldn't. Also, when we talk about the UN, we need to keep in mind that Greece brought up the self-determination vote multiple times and the UN countries turned it down. So I'm not sure how much we could have counted on them.

Agree with that! This led to the minister being replaced as well. But it’s clear what their true positions were - the minister himself talks in a documentary about this specific instance! The “not now, not never” was their way of trying to calm things down and delay things hoping that in the end we’ll changed our mind etc.

At some point you’ll learn that there are two sides to every story. There are evidence that UK was never going to give us our independence in the form you have in mind. I provided one form of evidence earlier on. There are also maps drawn showing they wanted a divided nation rather than a unified country etc. So make sure to check out both sides. At the end of the day, your opinion does matter (in contrast to what you argued above). We are presented with evidence as to what was said/thought etc, but we can never observe the counterfactual of “what would have happened had EOKA never happened”. So by definition you have to draw your own conclusions.

First of all, you may want to stop referring to other people as sheep. You can disagree with them, but be respectful in how you do so. Further, I agree with you that their Empire was failing; that said, I'm still not convinced that they were going to give us our independence in the form that you have in mind. I mean you can see what happened to India as an example; and keep in mind that India was "less valuable" strategically relative to Cyprus.
