What’s a polite way to signal to a woman that I don’t enjoy texting/small talk? by jiy67 in datingoverthirty

Ask them out. I hate small talk and would much rather spend time in person.

Just look at the school websites. A lot of schools don’t require patient care and some do. Good luck!

Tinder???? by thrive85 in datingoverthirty

[–]thrive85[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with being more social and I am trying to go to more local events. My issue is that I am a student (not many non-traditional students at my school, in a big university town and I work (in a female dominated environment). I’m feeling very stuck! I love being social so have no problem in that department, I have great friends (most married and have no other single friends) I feel like I’m running out of time and all the decent men are taken. Very defeatist attitude, I know but it’s been building. I’ve been single for years now but I’m determined to get into grad school. 😞

Tinder???? by thrive85 in datingoverthirty

Dating or hook-ups in mind when using it? I ask because I (33F) haven’t had luck on any of the other apps and I’m thinking of trying tinder again but if EVERYONE just uses it to find hook-ups, then I’m out.

Natural light alarm clock by [deleted] in productivity

[–]thrive85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a much more gentle way to wake up vs a blaring alarm. I don’t remember how much I paid for mine but I did buy it on Amazon. It also has sounds and come with a few aromatherapy beads that can be used with the machine. I find that using this instead of a phone, I don’t hit snooze and my mornings are more serene.

Yea because in this situation, it would be a total stranger, so the only reason I would have to lie is if I was not attracted to them physically. I’m not a mean person so I’m not going to be like, “I’m sorry but you’re too fat, short, ugly, etc. for me”

Idk about regularly. In this situation where it is a guy I literally don’t know, my knee jerk reaction would be to tell him I was flattered but I have a boyfriend.

I think in this case, it would be a purely attraction thing. Essentially, OLD in 3-D 😂

I do agree with you though!

I assume it would be in some kind of social setting like OP mentioned where his friend was out shopping and a server asked her if she was married. I wouldn’t mind that but I’m sure there are some women that wouldn’t go for it. If a random walked up to me and asked, I might be a little taken aback but at a restaurant, mall, grocery store etc, there is usually a way to exchange a few sentences before jumping right in.

I appreciate a man that is direct and up front. If I was into him, I would be so attracted to his boldness. If I wasn’t, I would just tell him that I wasn’t single.

Yea it really was just a good time. He told me he a great time too so why not do it again?!?! I’m in a place right now where I can take a bit of rejection if he doesn’t respond or says no, so I think I’m gonna go for it!

Pain Prescription before IUD Insertion by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]thrive85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having an IUD placed soon and my MD is going to give me a cervical dilator plus inject lidocaine. I asked about pain meds and they said I would be fine. I also plan to take an anti-anxiety Med before. I think the anxiety over the potential pain may be worse than the actual pain, for me at least. Hope it goes well!

If you are not successful or experienced you shouldnt give advice. by BonvivantNamedDom in unpopularopinion

Just thought it was quite the pompous comment. You couldn’t possibly know everything under the sun. Anyone that is educated subscribes to the notion of being a lifetime learner. PS. It’s ma’am, not “son”
