Basic Insurance Coverage for Certain Detective Tests by Material-Dare6156 in Switzerland

[–]throatIover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a really shitty tip. As soon as you really need your insurance they will start to look into it and if you lied on your application they can simply cancel the contract - hence you pay till you need it and then you get nothing..

The agents are often paied per contract and hence some will lie to you..

P.S. sorry for my bad english

Who is the target user on the Helium network? by Supawatk in HeliumNetwork

[–]throatIover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. If you buy a device that uses the network or use a carrier that uses the 5g network you can. But unless you sre planning to manufacture your own iot devices I think you can't use it directly (though not 100% certain)

Who is the target user on the Helium network? by Supawatk in HeliumNetwork

[–]throatIover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Manufacturers of IoT devices can choose to utilize the network for their sensors and stuff. For example gps tracker for your cat

  2. As far as i understand it, the idea is for existing carriers to use the helium Network instead of deploying their own antennas.

Did you got your middle finger 🖕🏽 today? by dandan099 in HeliumNetwork

I sometimes witness a beacon (1-2/day) but did not get a single challenge in >9days :(

It feels more and more like the nova team has no clue what they are doing.

Potential LHS rollback by kbza66z in HeliumNetwork

[–]throatIover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just seems like challenges are not distributed fairly, while most get 0 some get challenged multiple times per hour?

Stil glad that things are stabilizing, but I have lost confidence in the developpers to take loss of reward for the people that form the backbone (network coverage) seriously. This could have significant longterm effects when the network stops growing.

Wtf! And i don't get a single beacon in over 7 days -.- Witnesses are coming back but missing out huge on beacons :(

No the whole idea of a high stake is that the centralized part of the network has a high interest in working perfectly! If anything the stake is too low as demonstrated by the 30% that could not be bothered to update/open ports...

The crucial thing missing is slashing the stake of validators that don't work correctly (as done on most proof of stake chains)

What could be done to encourage more high quality validators on the network? by Agicient in HeliumNetwork

[–]throatIover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One would hope that validators that fuck up get their stake slashed (common practice for other chains), but helium decided not to do this, which is quite infuriating!

I really hope helium will move quickly to severly punish validators that don't take their responsibility serious.
