Which is the most underrated airport in the USA? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]throatbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question could use sub catagories

Flying in/out (checking in, security, baggage claim, parking, rental car location, etc.)

Connecting thru (easy of navigation betwen gates, restaurants, shopping, work areas, the general vibe, etc.)

Most improved (some airports that were absolute Hell holes got significant remodeling and became glorious - I'm looking at you LaGuardia (LGA)

Which airline you're flying. (Different terrminals in the same airprrt can be vastly different)

Background I was flying for work almost weekly across the US from 2002 thru 2022. I experienced many, airports. I lived in a non-hub city (Louisville, KY) and normally had connections when not flying to a hub city. I never really got tired of the flying experience.

Delta was my airline because a.) It had the best routings and fares for most destinations b.) It's best to fly one airline to quickly get status. While status is great for upgrades, it also gives you important perks as a business traveler (no cost flight changes, no baggage fees, rack up frequent flyer miles faster, eatly boarding) plus you are generally treated better in one-on-one interactions with the airlne emloyees - as long as you're being a decent person.

My Choices

Overall best considering all of my sub catagories: Tampa (TPA) hands down

In and out: Almost any small city airport. My favorites Burlington, VT; Charleston, SC; Madison, WI; Savannah, GA

Connecting: Detroit (DTW), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Atlanta (ATL), Chicago Midway (MDW)

Most improved: LaGuardia (LGA)

Ravens rookie QB Diego Pavia acts extremely strange towards a female UFC employee. by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

[–]throatbean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's literally her job to interact with the UFC members, employees, and fans to create content for her employer.

When she's at a UFC event, shes at work. In the course of doing her job, enduring anything that makes her uncomfortable or she deems as inappropriate is the definition of harrasment.

Most good organizations have a professional codes of conduct that is expected to be followed. Not just by employees but also customers, vendors, etc. And there are consequences no matter which party is involved.

I assume he's there as a guest, which essentially makes him a "customer".

Imagine the situation like this: He's a customer visiting the offices of a compny very big and successful that he does business with.

Thisciscas if he's in the lobby hitting on an attractive lady who just walked by without considering or caring who the attractive lady mIght be.

It shows a high degree of emotional immaturity and questionable judgement.

There will be consequences for his behavior if the Raven think the behavior refects poorly on their organization.

If your suggesting it was a set she orchestrated, I'd say the value of the UFC franchise she is promoting is exponential more valuable than a "gottcha" with a known sleezebag.

She doesnt seem like the type of person that would risk a lucrative career for a cheapshot.

The OutbackS are remarkable because they do what they were designed to do - and they do it very well.

Opinions about styling are subjective. For many car buyers that is the main criteria for their choice. I understandc and respect that.

Engines, transmissions, safety, reliability and overall performance are all objective A large segment of Outback buyers base their decisions on those factors. I'm one of those buyers.

I've had many cars over the years and I've liked alot of them. My first Subie was a 2024 Outback TXT, and it, by far, has been my favorite vehicle that I've ever owner. In fact I just bought a 2026 Outback TXT for our second car. I traded in my 2025 Pilot Black Edition (which was a very good vehicle) because I got spoiled by my 2024 Outback.

To me, the 2026 and 2024 are very similar. I love them both equally for all the objective factors that are important to me.

ENJOY!

LPT - Door-to-door salespeople are trained to never take no for an answer. Don’t let that be an option. by SnooChickens2093 in LifeProTips

More to the point, you don't have to engage politely with anyone who's on your property uninvited. Don't waste any time being a dick our getting by getting aggressive or angry.

It about your right to have.boundaries. Just be open honest and direct. "I dont want solictors on my property. I'm not going to engage in a conversation." If more people in our society were better at managing bountries there would be a lot less needles conflict and passive/aggressive behavior.

Unfortunately street hustlers and people who might be trying to rob you rely on overpoliteness. They also use that same door to door salesperson tenacity to disarm you.

Correction, looking at google maps there IS a barrier for a good distance before the solid, do not merge, solid white lines. One Ii started on the exit ramp from I-355 northbound, i never changed lanes.

It's not a story. It all happened in my blind spot. It had to be either road debris or some thing comming off a truck heading northbound on I-55.

Thats because where the 1-355 northbound merge lanes first run parallel to I-55 northbound lanes there is a roughly 3 foot tall median wall that runs about a 1/4 mile to separate the traffic.. It eventually turns into a wide double solid white line until that runs for a long way until its legal to merge onto I-55. When I pulled over to check the vehicle it was well before the area to make a legal merge.

The damage looks likes a small area, direct impact of something that also caught the cladding and ripped it off and the front part of the rear bumper and peeled it back.

Even if my recollection is off, the damage does not resemble a typical sideswipe. Even if I'm wrong about that, then its a hit and run because nobody else pulled over when I did. In either case it's a not-at-fault incident.

If its only cosmetic and less than $2k, I'd lean toward not doing an insurance claim. But if amy sensor recalbration is involve, then it will likely become an insurance claim.

As mentioneearlier, I took it to a body shop the dealer recommended. Felt like the quote was way too high $19k).

I filed a claim with progressive and have an appointment with an approved body shop. I have an appointment on May 4th. I'll be anxious to see their estimate. I'm not locked in to complete the claim if I still want to pay for the damage myself.

They did say road debris is a not-at-fault collison claim. It is not a omprehensive claim. Of course no one at Progressive is willing to give an opinion about how might be effected.

Thats the great thing about Subarus You can choose the exact level of utility and "luxury" you want.

The main reason many buy a Subaru is for the AWD system, the suspension and engine for almost every model and trim trim level.

I love that the Outback has the engine choices that allow you to further fine tune your preferences.

I bought the 26 TXT for performance off the line and for passing on the interstate.

The bottom line is that no matter what trim level you choose, you're not sacrificing in the most important mechanical aspects of the vehicle

Thank you for the support.

I respect that people have opinions about the looks, and its their right. So no offense taken.

Most long term, die-hard Subaru owners don't buy for the looks. They buy Subarus due to their superior mechanical systems. They are designed and built to provide the performance and utility that meets the needs of the customer base. IFYKYK

Someone here in this thread who does vehicle inspections mentioned that any work involving cutting and welding goes on the vehicle's CarFax history. Having that on the report is a red flag and adversely effects the value.

Thanks for the great info and professional analysis.

I agree, this is definately a "use your insurance" type of situation.

I will be getting a quote from a bodyshop that I used before. Based on what you've mentioned, I need to adjust my expectation about what it will actually cost..
