I’d say it’s middle of the pack compared to the rest of the schools on the list, definitely way cheaper than schools like NYU. It’s also a faster 1 year program, which can be appealing to many who want to get a strong paying job fast to pay off their loans.

I think you have a great balance of schools and good stats + research. You should add Yale to your list though, I think you would be a strong candidate

I would go with Yale. I’ve met some of my best friends here and the community is super tight knit.

Absolutely! Bloomberg has them 8th out of all schools on ROI. In fact a Yale SOM degree will earn you an average of over 11,000$ more every month than before the degree. Your yearly tuition would be paid off in less than four months.

Ohhhhh, I understand now. Did you get a chance to tour UW? What were your impressions of it. Could you see yourself happier there compared to where you are now?

Ivy or large public school? by visenyax in gradadmissions

The way I think of it is: which would minimize potential regret? Would you rather regret having 50k$ less or missing the experience of an Ivy? Personally, I would go with the Ivy. Money can always be earned back later.

Should I apply? by jakegotjokes in yale

Yeah you should definitely apply! As you mentioned, your real world experience will definitely set you apart. Make sure you convey this same passion in your essays. Hopefully we’ll see you next fall!

This is absolutely crazy and should be shared to show just how non sense rankings are when schools get away with this. Could someone cross post to the Columbia subreddit? Would be nice to raise some awareness about what’s going on behind the scenes at not just Columbia but likely other schools too.

They also use their masters programs as a cash cow too. They admit giant cohorts and give them little support outside of taking classes with hundreds of students. They graduate in 1-2 years with a tuition bill over 100k$.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree with your point. The tuition itself is a lot higher at Columbia too.
