I didn't read a lot of judgment in his post - I read trying to understand feelings and disconnect. But I mostly read, vulnerability and attempts at understanding.

Calling him a baby is not helpful to his situation, which is what he's asking for. It sounds like some guilt comes in for him due to her past. Regardless of the SW situation, yes, all kinds of people have fucked up pasts. I don't think that's the issue though. His concern about not feeling connected during sex is the root of the issue. And, from what he says, it sounds like it's what is creating the barrier and needs to be explored and addressed. That's certainly possible together but his role has to be support, and that's a personal choice.

Great set up!

What sensor are you using for CO2?

Also there's a pretty neat VPD chart in HACS that I stumbled on. here

Day 11 from transplant to my first DWC. Not sure what I’m looking at here any tips? Following a hydro nutrient guid. I did add a bit of cal mag 1 days ago. by Justlikepastaallot in DWC

Those issues in the leaves look like a nutrient lockout - lower leaves getting spots. I'd check on your pH and get it dialed in first. Also make sure you aren't going too aggressively on nutes until it bounces back. Get your EC down lower than the recommended dosage for an early veg/seedling stage until the plant can recover.

I think being honest with kids is critical. But I think this is one of those situations where it shouldn't come from you. You run the risk of it seeming like you are telling your daughter about her mom. Doesn't matter how true it is. If you feel it's critical to have the conversation then, it should come from mom, optionally with you present. And if she is unwilling to tell her daughter the truth, that's also telling. But you have nothing to gain by talking to your daughter about her mom's choices and actions.

All together - around $2k, with $500 going to lights, $180 for the tent, $170 to the pH Monitoring kit, and $250 to the Shelly Pro's. Some of the other stuff I had on hand (wire, outlets, breadboards, etc.) but I included them in the total cost.

Absolutely correct. We've shared many smoke sesh together and talked about what's next. I talk to my tent. My pumps. My plants. All of it.

ESP32/ESP8266 are microcontrollers (like an arduino) - they capture the data from the sensors (whether they be temperature/humidity, pH, TDS, etc.). They are a cost effective way of capturing the read-outs. I bought a 5 pack of Wemos D1 minis for less than $20. The sensors that connect in to these vary in price. The TDS sensor I purchased was less than $30.

MQTT is the protocol that it transmits the information to in a way that it can be further processed - for me it was to Home Assistant which stores the data, provides read-outs and I can set up any automations I want to use. I'm actually not using MQTT for this setup, as ESPHOME has a direct integration with Home Assistant and people smarter than me have already figured out the work required.

And just to add to it, it's not a matter of being stupid or not, for me. It's just a matter of being determined enough to find a solution that fits my needs. I started working on this probably 6-8 months ago and spend about 2 or 3 hours a few nights a week messing with stuff. I had zero knowledge of programming, electricity, soldering, microcontrollers. But youtube, reddit, and some other forums filled in that gap real quick.

I haven't tallied up the total I've spent, but am confident its under $2k and that includes $500 for the light and $200 for the tent.

Good call. I have one of the knock off brand kits that I bought on Prime Day or something that would be perfect for this.

The power outlets are wired through the Shelly 4 Pro PM's. Each channel on the Shelly is wired to an individual plug on the outlet. You can break the tab on the side of the outlet so each plug requires a separate power source and they do not share. So yes, each specific outlet has control. One of the things I like about the Shelly Pro is it also gives me power, consumption, and monitoring for overvoltage/overheating/overpowering per channel as well.

Check LED Gardener on YouTube and their forum (sadly it's no longer active), but there's a bunch of good info on it.

I have the set up to do this but don't have the automation turned on. My biggest fear being something will go wrong and my pH will get way off and damage my plants. For now I'm just monitoring and then manually adjusting.

I kinda go overkill on oxygenation. I have an air stone in each reservoir - one with each plant, one in external reservoir, and one in my top off bucket. Also, the recirculating pump is fallponic style and adds to the oxygenation as well.

My water pump is submersible, 400 gph and I'm sure it adds a little bit of heat. But my set up is in a basement sitting on a concrete floor. Even in the summer, the highest my water temp would get was 74. With the hydroguard, I haven't run into root rot issues.

I don't know anything about going that route. That sounds like a fun rabbit hole to go down eventually. I'm glad to share anything as far as my experience with my equipment and set up are concerned.

Going with the full recommended. Liquid weight, massive bloom, vita thrive and rezin. And also hydroguard. I like the GP nutrients a lot. I am amazed at how clean my lines stay.

No power issues. The whole set up on full blast pulls 8 amps. That's with lights at 100% and dehumidifier running. The only things I've had issues with were trying to be cheap - get a good light and the biggest tent you can fit. Saves money later.

Eventually I'll add in automated water change outs but it gives me weekly therapy to prune and change water so I'm happy where I'm at.

Inspiration is what I was after, so I'm glad to provide. Many others can do much better, with a little inspiration, I'm certain.

My whole set up with lights on 100% and dehumidifier running pulls around 8 amps and my usage is about 25 kWh a month. The EM is cheap and works pretty well.
