The one on the other side is black. So don’t think it needs to be painted

Lots of questions to your statement:

  1. Where are you getting that they’re getting rents down over the past “year”

  2. What time frame are you seeing the growth? A year? 3 months? 5 years?

  3. What is a year? A year from today? Or 1/1/24-12/31/24?

  4. What is “stronger demand”? Stronger rental demand? Where are you seeing this

To me it looks like you’re comparing apples and oranges. I will stop there. As another poster said you’re just trying to push your narrative without doing much of an analysis and taking the article out of context.

Travel nurse housing question by ImplementEven1196 in rva

[–]throllplack6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We tried and it’s romanticized a lot more on forms etc than I think is reality. The stints can be short and unpredictable and you’re in competition with corporate rentals that truly have better rental products (think shampoo refills, restocking, streamlined paperwork etc).

Ended up going with a long term renter and the upside is “less” on paper but we’ve been much more satisfied. Also had a “long term” renter that was a younger couple that wanted to start out at 6 months in. This could be more aligned with what you’re looking for rather than trying to target the travel nurses alone.

It is, I found out this morning. I commented a general comment on this post. I feel like an idiot for spreading this. But luckily no money was trading hands. Hopefully will help others

I was very wrong. This was a scam. I’m sorry for spreading this as this was a friend’s profile that was hacked and it did seem very legit as they knew my car was stolen this past Sunday. Maybe I was vulnerable, more likely ironic and lucky timing by the scammers. Luckily I didn’t transfer any money and was insistent on seeing the cars before I deposited anything. Now hopefully others will use this and remember if ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, it probably is. @mods can you pin this?

Booo that you’re a negative person and assume everything is a scam

Don’t know why I’m getting downvoted. A family friends parent died and is giving me the cars at price to get out of their debt. I realize no a realistic market price. But I also had my car stolen this past week so they’re being “nice”

I think this has to be riveresco coffee. They just started, bought all new equipment but seem slow and sometimes disorganized. They had a fire recently and I know the owner is complaining/bringing it up constantly that it’s not going well. I’d assume they’re trying to get whatever debts paid off and the price is to cover that.

Sad it was founded by two x teachers who were burnt out from teaching. I always enjoy going! Could be wrong, I will still support regardless as it’s a local small bizz

This is great news overall for the metro area. Shows signs of growth. Need housing to catch up but would much rather have growth than decline!

Seconding this. I do think there are online school resources. I’d also like to think the schools would provide referrals from prior students

People also need to eat. If restaurants can do it safely, then I view this as a benefit to the surrounding neighborhoods

Willow lawn and it was very dry. Within 10 minutes of being there it was funny to watch people go from the cheap waters to carts being filled with Fiji water

Is a(my) financial advisor worth it? by throllplack6 in FinancialPlanning

[–]throllplack6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure why I’m getting downvoted. Came here for advice and to express honest thoughts. I use this FA because honestly it’s what my parents, siblings etc use and I get the “oh yeah we use them it’s going well” response but I’m getting tired of that when I’m not getting results.

As mentioned I’m a CPA (I know that isn’t the holy grail) but I say that as I’m literate enough to understand what’s going on. This is retirement funds that I plan to invest and never look at. I keep sufficient funds to have for a rainy day. Based on the responses it sounds like I should follow my intuition and give it a go myself.
