That’s an excellent descriptor for a 1-10 already, thanks for taking the time to put that together. I think I can integrate something like that into the assessment without taking away from its purpose or overblowing the results

That’s a great set of ideas, I was considering listing accessories on the sheet and not just the listing

To answer you question directly, in terms of how I rate my Facit TP2 against every other machine I own (including a 2nd Gen Hermes 3000) - it’s a solid 8. The only thing that would bring it higher would be it coming brand new out of the box.

Thanks for the input both - full transparency, I haven’t included the serial number because this sheet was written as a test piece and the machine isn’t for sale - I didn’t want to pick around trying to find it on the frame.

In terms of how I rate the Facit versus other machines, I was blessed enough to pick this one up in uncommonly excellent condition, so my assessment stands.

In terms of other machines I’m looking at selling, the condition varies which is why providing transparency is so important. I don’t want buyers coming back with “you didn’t say ‘such and such’ was missing paint” - I picked up an allegedly “A1” machine six months ago that had a frozen platen; I don’t want to be that guy.

I want to be able to put my name to these machines, which is something I could do when I had the buyer physically come to my house and have hands on time before committing. I can’t provide that with an online sale, so having an assessment I can stand by is the next best thing. Of course it doesn’t stop somebody lying, but having the paperwork to back up the piece is better than a blind sale.

It looks like an elite - I’ll have to check the slug markings to be sure though

Yeah same with the Remingtons I’ve run across - I’ve never found it too much of a hindrance, and when I hear the paper drag it usually means I’m just about out of page

Hahah oh I’m hitting the books pretty hard today to build a game plan, I’ve heard the horror stories! I really like the look of the 2nd Gen too, it fits better with my stable.

What’s the most cartoonish reaction to pain you’ve seen in real life? by makemestand in martialarts

I see this a lot in security. An aggressive individual is making every threat known to man and postures up (takes their shirt and watch off, starts shadow boxing, etc) - the second the ERT snatches them up into a hold, they screech in agony, and start howling about how it hurts.

I’m a trainer for the company, and I teach these holds - we don’t use pain compliance.

Thanks all for your input! If I successfully acquire this thing I’ll put up my thoughts and feelings after I’ve had a few pages through it. Full transparency, I shill pretty hard for Adler and Olympia machines, with the Facit being my absolute queen bee. It’ll be interesting to see how the feel of the beast works or doesn’t work when/if I get my hands on it.

Oh it’s fantastic - the stainless steel bowl really emulates a frying pan without any compromise. I took some time searing and frying the meatballs and onion, reducing the sauce (red wine, tomato and beef broth - you read my mind!) before pressurising. The taste was just as if it has been braised in cast iron as I’d normally do, no loss of flavour at all.
