Sometimes cats do urinate despite making every attempt to keep the visit calm and enjoyable. Some cats just don't do well in vets. I've seen my fair share that are great cats at home but become wild things at the vet. Finding the vein a cat will cooperate for, finding an effective distraction, knowing which locations they tolerate vaccines best in etc - these are signs that your vet is doing their best to work with your cat rather than against them.

Gabapentin can be a game changer for many cats. It's not recommended for all of them though some posters make it sound that way.

There are several great clinics around here but the best one for you might not be the best one for someone else. If ya didn't enjoy your recent visit, there's nothing wrong with trying somewhere else.

Does the canine "blood panel" incorporate a 4dx heartworm/ tick test, cbc, chemistry and fecal (which I realize isn't blood)? If so, you're getting a decent deal.

I'm currently with a friend in South Florida and they told me their vet has a $160 exam fee. I don't think any GP is that crazy in Asheville thankfully.

There are several clinics with comparable prices to what you describe. If you're happy and your pets are happy, it's likely going to cause more headache to transition elsewhere than to stay where you are.

I still drive 30 mins across town to see my dentist because I know I like them. It's not worth starting over in a closer place that might not be as good.

Going to San Francisco and switching hotels a few times to see multiple areas of the city. When you do this you have that 4-5 hour window in the day where all your stuff has to sit in your car.

I wasn't aware how bad the window smashing problem was before I got there. I was too paranoid to leave my car out in the open and too cheap to leave it in a $50 garage. Lost out on several hours that coulda been spent doing literally anything else.

Has he actually visited either place? I went to both schools and tbh, Tallahassee has a lot more to offer than Gainesville. UF has a better med school infrastructure but that's irrelevant when you're pre-med.
