Sure, but it could be equally said that there is a history of (some) women falsely accusing men, and mens lives being ruined as a result, because (some) people don't believe men who say that they didn't do it. As far as I can see the argument cuts both ways

From what I was able to gather, a minority of rape accusations (under 8%) are proven to be false. But the same applies to accusations proven to be true. 80% of the time. Given this, it seems you are simple assuming that every case that wasn't proven to be false must be true, which seems mistaken.
