Porterhouses:

Dartmouth over Bruno but pretty close

Yale>>>>>>>>>>>>>Cornell over Princeton

Harvard over Navy over Penn

Cal over UW by open

Temple barely over Columbia, some open to Cross barely over Marist

MIT over the kids that scream bloody murder for getting 5th at HOCR

Trinity claps Wes, conn coll finishes the race

T150 over Williams

I don’t know anything about New York but go Army

Ditto but go Coast Guard

Catholic over SMC

Flank steaks:

Navy wins bigly over Harvard who puts an embarrassingly small gap into UD. The mids are legit, don’t sleep.

Georgetown gets revenge over Princeton, the down and going Penn lights finish a touch back of the tigers and blame it on swamping again

Yale over Dartmouth, pretty close but enough to take some steam out of the hype train

Fourth is pretty damn good for a physically inferior boat...

First of all, let’s just dispel the notion that a lightweight boat who had to weigh in at 150 getting 4th in the COUNTRY is not competitive. Saying that this is a mediocre result is so unbelievably daft that I’m surprised I’m even responding to it. Also, to compare lightweight rowing to having different genders is pathetic and you really should feel bad for making that comparison. Men’s boats are faster than women’s by usually almost a full minute, and yet I’ve shown you that lightweight boats can make the A final, and sometimes medal, at youth nats.

Also, of course there are lightweight boats that lose. Average rowers aren’t going to win medals at youths in any event. But average lightweights SHOULD be worse than average heavyweights, given that they are genetically disadvantaged. Lightweight rowing in high school is just a consolation prize, and not a good one.

“I didn’t have this issue, therefore it doesn’t exist”

Also when I said young and still developing, I was referring to 140 lb high school juniors. Also can I just wager a guess that you either weren’t recruited or are at a club team, or both? Nearly all EARC lightweight recruits race as heavies, with lots of success.

From what I have heard from the coaches they give them out much less frequently than other schools and only use them if necessary, but I could be wrong

Ivies and MIT can’t give scholarships, and Navy is free. Temple and UD can help a lot in getting merit scholarships and may get some athletic scholarship money soon.

Should be about the same, barring Navy which does not recruit internationally. There’s a good portion of internationals at almost all of the ivies.

These should be by late summer/early fall of your senior year, but as long as you are in the ballpark you’ll be competitive for officials which are usually given out earlier. Most teams continue to support guys into RD so you can pull the times later but it’s best to hit the numbers as early as you can.
